The solo-performer equivalent in my opinion of a DVN opening for EFO show. yup...they're-that- good!! oh..and, of course, lest we forget the wonderful davinci's notebook who are not only touring, -but- have a CD release shindig for their BRONTOSAURUS coming up at the birchmere on april 25th{which..yay!! i think i can now make!!!}. come on out and support your local acappella madmen!!! word!!!! ~throws down dope pose~ ok..there's my two cents. which, as usual, seems more like 3 or 4. shelly {who is -so- jealous of eric for all his upcoming dave-and-tracy action..not to -mention- the 'young mark erelli' goodness......grrrrrrr} ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2002 08:54:59 -0400 From: Ellen Buckley Subject: Re: EFO: off-topic: Other concerts? Big Head Todd and the Monsters at the 9:30 club 4/12 Brooks Williams at Baldwins 4/17 Radiators at the Birchmere, also 4/17 Paperboys (i assume they mean only some of them) at Jammin Java 4/18 and oooh! i just noticed, a Bruce Springsteen Tribute Night 5/7, Voices on the Verge at Iota 4/21 Vance Gilbert at someplace in Rockville 4/24 which is tied with Richard Shindell at the Ramshead, same date DaVinci's Notebook at the Birchmere, 4/25 Wilco at the Recher Theater 4/28 Steve Forbert at Andy's in Chestertown OR Patty Griffin at the Ramshead, 4/29 Nields + Kennedys at the Birchmere 5/3 AllMighty Senators and JahWorks at the Recher, 5/4 Dan Bern at Fletchers, 5/12 it sure is nice living right between Baltimore and DC. ok, i know that sounds like a lot. you asked what was in my datebook, not how many of them i'd actually wind up going to. ;) and the answer to that is, any, but not all. definitely the nields, and very likely vance gilbert and wilco. there's something else in mid-may that i already have tix for but i'm forgetting what it is. and falcon ridge, of course. ;) peace, ellen ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2002 13:15:05 +0000 From: "Carey Farrell" Subject: Re: EFO: off-topic: Other concerts? >That said, I figure it's my turn to spark conversation. Well, on Saturday I'm going to see the CD release show of a great band called Boister, who are sort of like what would happen if Tom Waits and Edith Piaf were playing in a klezmer band at a carnival in Hell...then next week it's the Be Good Tanyas (maybe), DVN, and Slaid Cleaves...and the rest of the month holds more DVN goodness and some Jump, Little Children. I think I need a new hobby. :) Carey _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2002 13:19:55 +0000 From: "Carey Farrell" Subject: Re: EFO: off-topic: Other concerts? shell wrote: >one performer i -am- planning on catching in a few weeks when he's here >again >is slaid cleaves. he is great and i am glad that he's goin'on the road >again'. if you haven't checked him out yet, do. you may know him of >'broke >down' fame a few years back. and if his friend, Rod Picott is joining him, >please, do NOT miss it!!! they are wonderful separate, but together are >amazing! Unfortunately, Rod won't be joining Slaid for the NY show I'm going to this week, or the Philly show Shell and I will be at next month, but I think they'll be doing a few Midwest dates together...you can check rodpicott.com or slaid.com for accurate information. Both of them rock, and both of them are absolutely groovy people. Well, I haven't been to too many shows lately but I am getting back on the wagon starting Saturday with EFO (WOO HOO!). As for other concerts, the only thing I am going to see is Get up Kids, Saves the Day, and Hot Rod Circuit next Thursday in Providence. Not quite folk music, but other good stuff (emo in this case). Like Beth, I missed Dashboard Confessional. Boo to that. And I think I am going to go see Kay Hanley soon too. I can't remember when that is though. Well, I don't seem to have such the eclectic tastes of the rest of you... I'm seeing EFO this Saturday in Somerville, and I plan to see Ozzfest this summer if I can as well as the Indigo Girls if possible. Course, last time I tried to go to the Indigo Girls I couldn't find anyone to go with and had to throw out a ticket :P So, anyways, hello to anyone going to the show Saturday, see you there! mike On Thu, 11 Apr 2002, Richard Fortgang wrote: > Well, I haven't been to too many shows lately but I am getting back on the > wagon starting Saturday with EFO (WOO HOO!).
