I couldn't help it. Seeing them onstage for the first time in many months, I was so happy I could barely contain myself. There were a lot of times during the night where I felt chills, even though the place was quite warm and I was wearing a sweatshirt. Being on maternity leave didn't slow them down a bit. The band put on a fantastic show of 2 70 minute sets. Lots of highlights in this show (apparently, the better of the 2 according to the band) :-) (just kidding you Friday nighters) I attended with 2 EFO virgins who were wowed by their performance. They were particularly impressed with the fact that the band could reproduce onstage what they had heard on a recording. Having the help of the 2 Johns (Carroll & Jennings) helped a bit with that. I was going to write out the setlist, but I didn't, and my friend Joanne would have spilled water on it anyway. She was SO excited when Joe was coming down front during Farmer Brown (crouching Joe, hidden Murphy). They played songs from every CD. Some of my favorites were Woman of Faith, Continents of Time, Observation, Fly South & Oh My Brother (one of those chill-bump moments). Oh, and Julie's "new" song for Corey. :-) Speaking of baby...oh, I'm not going to even talk about the running joke of the night. Suffice it to say, Mike "milked" it for all it was worth. Oh, Julie absolutely WAILED on "Operator!!!!!!" The lack of sleep hasn't hurt her voice any. Robbie, seemed to be the one who had lack of sleep, telling an audience member to "SHUT-UP" after an innocent request was asked for. (one of the funniest things of the night, imo) :-) Eddie's solo was top-notch as always. I always look forward to this part, as his solo continues to add new elements. He did his usual "hands around the percussion" solo, but added really cool sounds on both congas and cymbals. I see the gigs will be picking up in the coming months, so don't miss a chance to see them. You too will be "grinning ear to ear." don "I like to think of it as eating off each other's plates." - erin mckeown http://www.concentric.net/~donsem/votv_0309.htm Don Semmens; Richmond VA; donsem@concentric.net Visit my Regan Site http://www.concentric.net/~donsem/regan.htm Rob Buck Memorial Scholarship Fund http://gottabuck.org/ ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V5 #42 ****************************
