Only the people who booked early don't have to row. There is an old joke about a guy who tells his friend about a cruise to Europe that costs only $200. When they get to the ship, it's a galley and they all have to row, night and day as a drummer keeps the beat for the rowers. At the end of the cruise the guy asks his friend how he liked it. "I liked it fine," said the friend, "but I just have one question. How much do we tip the drummer?" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Feb 2002 12:45:47 -0500 (EST) From: Subject: Re: EFO Cruise On Sun, 24 Feb 2002, Jessica Brown wrote: > And on a more EFO note -- any reviews out there of Robbie's solo shows? sure. Cool little bar/club called Andy's in Chestertown, MD. The room was tiny but filled with comfy chairs and couches and a few cafe tables. There were, in rotation, about 20 people in attendance. Show started about 9ish and lasted til..um..gah...midnight or so??? I didn't bother watching the time.. Oh..and did I mention that he had a guest joining him? A Mike someone...??? *grin* Ok....with that...more later Shelly ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Feb 2002 16:04:49 +0000 From: "Carey Farrell" Subject: Re: EFO Cruise ellen wrote: >ellen (sorry, i'd elaborate, but i'm late for work. i'm sure shelly or >carey can fill in what i've left out, though ;) You called? :) OK, like Ellen and Shell said, the Andy's show was just awesome. It's the cutest little room -- it looks like a typical grandmother's living room -- and there were only about 15 or 20 people there over the course of the evening, and only 7 or so who actually stayed thru the whole thing. And oh, yeah, besides Robbie, there was also some other guy named Mike, who turned out to be a pretty good musician himself. :) Set 1: Woman of Faith 30 Second Jerusalem #6 Driver new song (the current favored title is "Holy Land." I'm holding out for "Chicago.") Full Atlantic Boat Town Man vs Horse (new Mike song) Set 2: One Fly (incredible new Robbie song) Catchers Boy Named Sue (Mike) Don't Think Twice Here in Rome Straight and Narrow Simon & Garfunkel medley Arnie Stand By Your Man (while Shelly was checking her car...Ellen had to help them out with the lyrics. I was disappointed that nobody else was doing the choreography) 20,000 Hearts Please Don't Bury Me (John Prine song) Independence, Indiana (see Fly) singalong of "Sipping Ginger Ale Through a Straw" (while Robbie left the stage to use the men's room) Rock and Roll All Night (sort of) Tommy the Canexican (Robbie's revenge) Da Do Ron Ron Soldier Boy (oh, the pain) Wheels on the Bus (sort of) Devil with the Blue Dress (Robbie with the Black Shirt) Candido That's all from me. I just joined the Associates program, which at $125/year gives you access to advanced ticket sales. efo's show this year is on July 20th. I also signed up for the cruise today. Does anyone know of some good airfares? The lowest ones I see right now are $184 roundtrip. Kerry - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Springer's show is fascinating. It's become as sort of formalized and ritualized as Japanese Noh Theatre. A gorgeous girl comes out and says she is cheating on her lover. And they bring out the lover. And the lover turns out to be either a boy interested in another girl, or a girl interested in another girl, and then there's a sudden point where you go 'I've got it! They're all strippers!' and they come out and they hit each other. - -Neil Gaiman http://www.magenta.com/~morpheus/ ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V5 #24 ****************************
