I've sent out a very politely-worded e-mail to EFO with my request. If you're in Marblehead next Friday and hear "North Pacific Rain" you'll know who to credit (or blame). :) thanks,Liam (looking forward to seeing EFO at a full-length gig after seeing them at 3 straight festivals) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 10:21:56 EDT From: JRaimo007@aol.com Subject: EFO anniversary It's exactly one year and one day ago that Edhead Cruise #1 set sail. Did anyone book yet? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 22:29:43 -0400 From: rhiannon richard Subject: winston-salem Got back today from my fall break and fun EFO weekend. I left new bern (eastern, NC) yesterday morning, drove to hillsborough and picked up Charlotte, then we headed to winston-salem. We arrived at about 1:15 for the 2:00 instore at Borders. The show was awesome, though far too short, and definitely a big tease. The instore version of "hey little man" was the very best that I've ever heard. They also did, "Quick", "Best of Me," "#6 driver", and "America the beautiful". They sat themselves down at a table and signed stuff for a while. With 4 hours before we even needed to be on the way to the Wake Forest campus, Charlotte and I sat ourselves down in Borders on one of the comfy couches and started reading books. At some point we both actually fell asleep. Then we managed to get some motivation and went to find the Brendle Recital Hall. It was a very school-ish room, with big tall ceilings, stadium seating, and a white light look to it. Mike actually started the show by saying "welcome to folk music 101" or some such thing. The set list is in my car, so I can't give a complete list... but they played a lot off of Quick and some other standards. They also played "Omar's got a problem" and "bowling in the hills"... along with Dylan's "don't think twice it's all right" and Lyle Lovett's "she's hot to go". They had a lot of fun with a girl in the audience, emma, who was turning 12. They joked around with her, and she really seemed to love it. The version of "oh my brother" that they played last night was AMAZING to say the least. It left me with me jaw on the ground. That's only happened one other time that I can think of... which was when they played "atlantic" this time last year in Charlotte, nc. We were sitting on a rather interesting row (the front row). To my left was a family, with rather adorable children. They little girls fell asleep at some point and Robbie pointed out that that's opposite of how it was at his first concert... when he dragged his parents to see Fleetwood Mac (yay!). Then to the right of us was a group of two girls and a guy that gave about 15 standing ovations during the show. They were VERY adamant about wanting to hear "great day"...i think they were rather sad when we explained that they couldn't because it's difficult for Julie since she's pregnant. When they introduced "hey little man" one of the little girls next to me turns to her parents and said something like "i seen that one at the bookstore!!!!!!"... she knew it by name before they even sang the first note!!! it was so cute. After the show Charlotte got her shoes signed. She's just good at getting autographs that she can carry around with her. So, now I'm looking forward to the NC shows next month...and possibly the Clemson show too, though i'm not sure about that one yet.
