(for those of you who weren't there, it was believed to have been 40 lbs.) - -----Original Message----- From: Bertram Tunnell [mailto:bertram.tunnell@hotelrevmax.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2001 1:30 PM To: 'edheads@efohio.com' Subject: NYC Concert My email has been slightly sporadic...so not sure if anyone reported in on the NYC concert. The concert was touching, deep, lively, hysterical...wonderful. There is one moment that I would like to share that I know I will never again experience in my lifetime. About halfway through they announced that they were going to sing a song that had recently gotten some air play. They then proceeded to sing "Oh my brother." The audience stood riveted. As the song proceeded, I suddenly felt a strangers hand in mine. I then felt a friends arm go around my waist, and another friend gripped my shoulder. There, literally 8 blocks away from ground zero we all stood in silent reverence of this song and the emotion it evoked from all of us. My friends that I had brought who had never seen EFO in person were crying. When they got to the end of the song: No one moved. No one applauded. No one spoke. We all stood, the audience and the band staring at each other for what seemed to be an eternity. It was Robbie who broke the silence, looked out all of us and just said, "We have all just shared something really special together" I don't remember how EFO seguewayed into the next song or what that next song was. I just remember the most powerful silence I have ever experienced. The silence did not come from anger, or happiness, or joy, or fear... ...it came from the amazing feeling that for those 20 seconds we all understood each other, we all felt the same pain, the same loss...and the same hope. It is a moment, and a concert that I will remember for the rest of my life...a moment that I don't think will ever happen again. (or will they scream at me for asking...hopefully not...but one never knows)...the burning question in my belly is suddenly...what do other Edheads think are the greatest EFO songs? So, without further ado...I would like to throw in my 5 favorite songs, and 1 favorite "rap" Take note: most of the songs below can be found on the Edhead website (I am not being a snob...I just like the live stuff over the recorded...there is truly no comparison between the recorded "Moons of Jupiter" on I Rode Fido Home and the live version) 1. Moons of Jupiter (Fletchers, 12/19/98) 2. Oh my Brother (Live...don't know where...liked this song before...love it now) 3. Blue Jeans (bonus album cut) 4. Oh Susannah (Bad Habits Grille, 11/10/98) 5. Hey Little Man (Quick) And the funniest rap that I have heard recorded has to be: During "The Train Song" aka: the Sexual Harrassment/Tinkywinky/Silence of the Lambs rap (South Main Cafi, 2/11/99) Anyone else want to play? Or will I be chastised? Inquiring minds what to know. Ps: I didn't include "Three Fine Daughters" as it is so good...it transcends any list. I'm in a risky mood. 5) Cathcers, Drummers, and Anchormen 4) Imagine Me 3) Hail Mary Shy Of Redemption 2) Eddie's Concubine (...live) 1.5) Miss Fritchie (I'm a cheater) 1) Candido & America This list most likely will change for me tomorrow. And I'm sure as more songs are posted, I'll be saying, "Oh yeah! That one too!" - Jim Raimo ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Sep 2001 16:00:09 -0400 From: "Shawn McCausland" Subject: Re: I apologize...maybe Not that I have the time, but... 1.
