I guess I just assumed so, since all the other lists I'm on are that way. Also, I talked to them last time I saw them about e-mails and what not, and they said that they usually handle them, but if they are on the road...they have someone else to handle it for them. So, if Ellen's theory is true, don't you think that if EFO has someone handling fan mail, they could also handle list admin stuff as well? :-) ===== steven nero7997@yahoo.com http://filebox.vt.edu/users/stblack2/ http://verticalhorizonfaq.tripod.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Sep 2001 03:24:30 -0400 (EDT) From: Jason Reiser Subject: Re: unsubscribe Umm... the mailing list *is* running majordomo - rather traditional mailing list software that allows people to subscribe and unsubscribe themselves, if they know how. And we have the cool people at smoe.org to thank for this list. Everything/one seems to be OK here in Fairfax, though I heard there was a tornado warning here yesterday. I'll leave the details to the regular Fairfaxians, as I'm just visiting. I must say that this is making me anxious to get back to California. :) - --nicole twn ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Sep 2001 09:47:33 -0400 From: "nick doyle" Subject: a record recommendation (no specific band content) hello everyone- today, september 25th, is the day that jump, little children's new album vertigo hits stores. if you've never heard of this band, they hail from charleston sc and have been playing rock and roll music for about 8 years now. this album was supposed to come out on may 9th, but due to record label problems (they were signed to breaking records, a division of atlantic, which dissolved breaking back in april-leaving the cd in limbo) they have not been able to get the album out until now. now, i know that some of you might not want to spend the requisite $14/$15/$16/$17 you may need to in order to own this fantastic cd by a band you've probably never even heard of. so, here's a handy test that can help you decided whether or not this album is for you: q: do you like artists that put their hearts and souls into every note that's played, such as jeff buckley, glen phillips, or radiohead? a: you'll love jump, little children. q: do you like bands with interesting/unique instrumentation, such as cello, acoustic/electric guitars, accordian, upright bass, harmonicas, drum kits, and mandolins? a: you'll love jump, little children. q: do you like songs with extremely well-written lyrics that are wonderfully sung and performed? a: you'll love jump, little children. q: do you love bands that have foxy guys in them? a: you'll love jump, little children. q: do you like bands that have commas in their names? a: jump, little children. q: do you love music?! a: you will love jump, little children. if you answered "yes" to all or most of these questions, then you are a prime candidate for this particular slice of rock. this new cd is their first release on their own independant label, and they need all the help they can get, since they don't have a record label backing them with oodles of cash. they have a pretty far-reaching distribution deal however, so you can probably find it in most stores-even those such as best buy or borders should have this disc. and if your local indie store doesn't have a copy, ask them to order one for you-it's the least they can do! so go to your local store today and ask for vertigo by jump, little children...you'll be glad you did! take care, nick ps-feel free to e-mail me with any questions. this message has been brought to you by the association for people who love rock music that doesn't suck. ............................................
