The shock is unreal. I pray that none of the LA area Edheads were on any of the planes or knew anyone who is. Perhaps that's the wrong thing to say. *shakes head* I'm listening to Santa Margherita. *BIGBIGHUG* Jess ===== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. I watched the whole thing unfold from the roof of my office building. Nothing will ever let me forget watching those building first on fire...then the explosion of the second plane hitting...then collapse of one...seeing only World Trade Center standing...then collapse...then nothing. I just went to the roof again and looked at where they used to be. I have yet to find the words to explain how I felt, or how I still feel. I have a friend unaccounted for, my family is safe. I am sitting here at work, listening to EFO, which is helping lift my spirits. Pray for those still in there and those brave souls who are trying to rescue them. Pray for us all, and give a loved one a very long hug and kiss for me. However my mom called me from CT today to give me some happy news. She was listening to WMAS ( a light mix station) and one of the djs made the announcement that he had just talked to one of his friends from the band Eddie from Ohio who was stranded in a VA airport trying to get to (chicago?) to meet the rest of the band and he asked him to play a song for them in honor of the tradgedy-and then they played "Oh My Brother" from Portable. My mom was very excited and called me right away-I've raised my mom well. And i cannot imagine a better song to fit this awful situation. I love you guys :) KristenGet more from the Web. Kristen and others affected by loss--I'm so sorry. Too damn many are gone. I have two friends out of contact myself. *crosses fingers* Meanwhile I'm 3000 miles away from the *physical* site of the disaster, and since I just gave blood eight days ago I can't even do that to help. I'm told that California sent over a bunch of rescue teams, which news I was glad to hear. > tradgedy-and then they played "Oh My Brother" from Portable. I've been listening to that and "Santa Margherita". Davis had another beautiful early fall day yesterday, while the people roamed purposelessly around, congregated by the TV in the campus coffeehouse, and generally tried to make sense of the incomprehensible.
