They are a Ricmond, VA based acoustic rock band with jazz and celtic influences. For those not going to the FRFF, Carbon Leaf will be putting on their "Second Annual Endless Summer Luau Part, II." It'll be on Mayo Island and they'll have fire eaters, polynesian dancers, fire jugglars, other things that have something to do with fire...perhaps tiki torches? That night Carbon Leaf will do a 3 hour set and afterwards anyone 18+ can choose to camp out overnight and in the morning the band will serve you breakfast (Unnoficially dubbed, "Terry's Second Annual Egg Burning"). Anyway, it's $10 advanced/$15 at the gate and proceeds go towards helping the homeless in Richmond. Note to self, don't repost something that was already said in the post you're replying to. on another note - I think that doing something during a song would be awesome (for those going to FRFF). However, as I understand it, the glowstick idea came from another band's fans. I think it'd be a whole lot cooler if something more original was thought up of. I don't know, throw paper airplanes during "Quick." (OK, not so original, but it's not related to another band). Hmmm...but you can't see airplanes in the dark. Maybe glow-in-the-dark paper? Just some suggestions, to get the noggins working. - --- Steven Black wrote: > --- joe devens wrote: > > CARBON LEAF- this is a great band from richmond > with > > a wonderful sound > > cheack them out! > > > > > WORD! > > They are a Ricmond, VA based acoustic rock band with > jazz and celtic influences. I agree with Suzie and Jeff. I think that Quick is wonderful!!!!! I do believe that it is as strong an album as Looking Out the Fishbowel. It is different then fishbowel though. I think fishbowel lets us see the serious, sincere and more intimate side of the band. I think that the album really shows off the talent of Robbie and Mike as songwriters. Quick is a more playful, I bet they had a lot of fun making it. It is the more laid back. We see the band's playful fun side. I love "Little Man" I can't understand why anyone would think it is corny, it is such a great lullaby. I can picture Julie rocking Liam and singing the song, with the guys poping thier heads in through the door at the chorus. All of the tracks are great. Unfortunatly I have so much fun listening to the cd and for me it ends to quickly. When I hear "Great Day", it makes me wish that thier is bonus track afterwards. Of course this is just my opinion. I could be wrong. Rob Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! Mail http://personal.mail.yahoo.com/ ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V4 #138 *****************************
