The more I listen the more attached I get. I think that perhaps the thing I love most about it is that it really showcases the strengths and talents of all the band. The songs Julie wrote are typical Julie--fabulous. It seems that Robbie loves to tell stories with his songs and Mike, I guess, is just Mike--but you can sure guess which are his! I think the diversity of music makes this a CD I'll listen to again and again...and again... - --- Mark Bradbourne wrote: > With all this activity, it was only a matter of > time. > I actually am surprised how long it took! > > My $.02 on Quick: > I think it's a great album, but like every album > there > are always songs that I don't like, call it personal > preference, but as a songwriter I can appreciate > what > this album represents... 10 years, growing, as a > band/musicians/songwriters and its a testament to > their immense talent. > > -Mark > > > > --- Tori Parker wrote: > > unsubscribe > > > _________________________________________________________________ > > Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at > http://explorer.msn.com > > > ===== > - ------------------------------------------------------------ > Mark R. My friends and I all decided to go to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival instead. These are GREAT seats -- I bought them the first day they went on sale. I only have FOUR tickets left, and they ARE together. I'm only asking for face value, to re-coup my $$. That's $25.25 per seat (including the Tickets.com "convenience" charge that I had to pay). Please write to me if you're planning to buy tickets, as all you can get now are lawn seats. Mine are better! :-) I'll sell them in pairs. Any quantity. First come, first served! Here is the stuff I already know I'll be at: Friday - The Friday night Song Swap (Vance Gilbert, Susan Werner) Saturday - 1st half: The workshop stage 2nd half: The Main stage (Sorry, Jian!) Sunday - Gospel Wake Up Call (EFO!), then back to the workshop stage until 3:30 Main stage from 5:20 on So, lots to do for me! :) Okay, stupid question time: What is a song swap? What is the workshop stage like in comparison to the main stage? (Covered tent, seating, size, etc.) Does anyone else have any recommendations of artists I absolutely MUST check out there? I'm very open in terms of giving new groups a listen. It's because someone took me to an EFO/Nields show that I fell in love with EFO in the first place. Thanks from a FRFF virgin! - - John First, let me say you are in for quite a treat! Falcon Ridge is probably the best musical experience of my life (except for lilith fair, but that's b/c my first true musical love is sarah mclachlan). Anyway, first, I suggest that you try the dance floor out a little! It's so fun! Even if you don't dance (b/c I don't) you will find yourself wanting to try. If you have some free time, and you note that they're doing some beginner stuff (especially contra, my fave) give it a try! The workshop stage is just a smaller version of the mainstage, if you're facing the stages, it's left of the mainstage . . . on a slightly smaller portion of the hill (if I recall correctly). The seating situation is the same: first come, first serve. Another suggestion: if you want to be close to the stage, get up at an ungodly hour of like 3 am to put your blanket on the hill, otherwise you will end up being far far away. Umm, I think that's it out of me, for now anyways! Oh, I did have an idea . . . I! don't know if anybody else would be interested in this, but I thought it would be really awesome if the edheads could get together on saturday night for EFO's show. On another mailing list I'm on (for Sarah M.) the fumblers get seats together for her concerts and always wave glowsticks around during a certain song. It's a sacred ritual. It would be awesome if the edheads could show similar support for EFO. Plus, we could all get to know each other, and be with equally obsessed people during their performance. . . . just an idea.
