On a completely unrelated note, inspired by your quote, Buddy; I note in the Ohioan that there's an EFO/Arrogant Worms double bill planned for this November. I, of course, will be on the complete wrong side of the continent for this. :( I mean, just THINK of the on-stage interband jams possible! The singalong part of "Mounted Animal Nature Trail" is a given, of course :), but I'm envisioning... I dunno... Dueling patriotic songs: "The Old Dominion" vs. "Canada's Really Big"? "Tom Burleigh's Dead" meets "Johnny Came Home Headless"? The possibilities are endless! - --nicole "Rippy the Gator went chomp chomp chomp" twn *** "When did dress-up turn to fashion?"--Dar Williams Visit Nicolopolis! http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~carlsonn nmcarlson@ucdavis.edu ana.ng@tmbg.org carlsonn@seclab.cs.ucdavis.edu ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jul 2001 08:42:26 -0400 From: carl.simmons@martindale.com Subject: RE: Quick! and some frustrations! Yeah, me too, and it's even signed (I was told I was too late for that)! I know what you mean about Great Day - I got all mushy & stuff the first time I heard it (on CD, anyway).... I'll reserve comment on the CD as a whole for a few more listens from now, although I've already got some impressions.... Sorry, can't help with FRFF - not going this year, headliner or no.... Carl Simmons hoping they'll come back to Bodles sometime this fall I got my copy of quick today!!!! I'm on my 3rd listen through, and I absolutely LOVE it!!! I think I have listened to Great Day about 20 times already. It's soo amazing! OK, now onto my frustrations: In a word (or two): FALCON RIDGE. I wanna go soooooooooo badly! I went last year, and that's how I discovered EFO (and the Nields, and moxy Fruvous, and Dar, and tons of others). It was the best weekend of my life!!! And now I don't know how I'm getting there this year, and it's TWO WEEKS AWAY!!!! My one friend wants to drive, but her mom won't let her, and my other friend's parents will let her drive, but she doesn't want to! I'm gonna cry so hard if I can't go. this is so frustrating! ok, I'll shut up now! thanks for listening! nichole "I wanna be young, wanna be beautiful, making a small beautiful sound." ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jul 2001 08:58:53 -0400 From: Ellen Buckley Subject: Re: I got it! As a long time lurker, I'll come out of the woodwork and answer this question. "Hey Little Man" is most certainly about Liam, I've seen them do that one a couple of times, and both times, Julie has said that she wrote it for her son. What a beautiful song.... Also, I have not recieved my "Quick" either here in Mass...maybe today. Due to the overwhelming response and the SLOW Post Office, a box of over 100 CDs did not get to my offices by Tuesday (it should have arrived the previous Saturday). EFO Fed Exed me another 80 CDs so that all orders were in the Post Office by noon on Wednesday. If you ordered a new EFO T-shirt, we have not received them yet from EFO so a few orders are being held. If this is the case with your order and you must have your copy of "Quick" before we get the shirts (they have been sent to us) feel free to call and we will separate the order and send your CD out today. If you ordered "Quick" alone or with any older CDs or shirts and have not gotten your CD by next Monday, something is wrong so please contact our offices at 413-527-9393 and we will check to make sure your order was received, process and mailed. We will rectify any sort of problem ASAP for ya.
