It's obviously time to go home. I'll take this email as a sign that I need to finally get a copy of this CD. - - rox ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Jul 2001 21:59:07 -0400 From: Greg Grant Subject: Re: Yo At 03:00 PM 7/9/01 -0400, Carl, whom I suspect has made many left turns in Jersey, wrote: >(is Greg Grant here, by any chance?), especially in the weeks to come.... >Quick >ain't quick enough.... > >Carl Simmons You can't stop me, you can only contain me. I am here, and since EFO very seldom makes it to Klumbus, the capital of Ahia (about 30 miles west of Nurk and 10 miles southeast of Gahanna ("if you can say banana, you can say Gahanna")), I've really only heard the one tune from the new album that they performed at FRFF last year, "Great Day," which is in itself a recommendation for the new CD. I have been assured that I have an autographed copy coming in the mail soon, though, tracks from which y'all will hear on The Folk/Rock Radio Buffet shortly after it is released. The lithping thinger problem has been solved with new encoding software, so all new songs are free of excess aspiration and I'm re-ripping songs as time permits. The new Kennedys CD, "Positively Live" is large, by the way. I highly recommend it. Pete gets to show off much more than on the studio recordings. If you buy this CD expecting the constant over-the-top wackiness and leftist politics of Fruvous, you will be disappointed. There are a couple amusing up-tempo songs ("Brainerd" and "Girls with Guitars" immediately come to mind, but otherwise this is a pretty serious CD. This is a collection of sparsely produced singer/songwriter tunes, mostly slow- to mid-tempo. This is a folk album, and a darn good one. And nothing against bulletproof, but us Americans can also take advantage of the ridiculously low exchange rate and buy it from MapleMusic and do something for the Canadian economy at the same time. Cause, let's face it, Canada has been pretty good to us.
