Although there is no diagnosis and no treatment, Ella's medical bills have almost surpassed the $1 million lifetime cap set by her insurance company. The Park West concert with Eddie From Ohio and The Nadas is one of several fundraisers currently planned to alleviate the Voss family's considerable medical expenses. The Bands: eddie from ohio Too energetic to be labeled just "folk", and not angry enough to be pegged "alternative", Eddie from Ohio continues to defy description with their unique blend of vocals and acoustic instrumentation. A bedrock foundation of hand percussion and a textural flavoring of acoustic guitar/bass/harmonica support the four-part harmonies and lyrically-driven original music. While this combination has drawn comparisons like the Grateful Dead meets Peter, Paul & Mary, or like Jewel fronts the Bare Naked Ladies, EFO fuses a multitude of musical influences to create their own trademark sound. Singer/Songwriter Vance Gilbert said,"They're kinda like The Story, except with more guys." )1998 eddie from ohio. All rights reserved. The Nadas Their name literally means "nothing," but their music speaks volumes. This Iowa-based acoustic rock quartet has a marvelously transparent, folk-imbued sound that is a treat for the ears--and for the heart. The Nadas sound combines everything that's good in American music: folk, rock, blues, and country. Taking inspiration from such varied artists as John Prine, Jackopierce, Martin Sexton, Lucinda Williams, and Greg Brown, The Nadas run the gamut of modern acoustic folk balladeering and good ol' rock 'n roll. Their songs are vignettes, little snapshots, of everyday lives and loves seen from a slightly different perspective. And they will introduce you to a world of lost loves and new beginnings, feisty old ladies and struggling exotic dancers, hazy mornings after and stormy nights you pray will never end. While the final chord is still singing in your ear and the lyrical stories are still setting in, you'll already be looking forward to the next show. ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V4 #107 *****************************
