At least, I'm almost certain that, say, Falcon Ridge takes a few bucks from every CD sale that goes on in their big tent, and I've heard that it's a standard practice at most performance venues. Anyone want to tell me if this is right or not? Eric, you may be right for some venues, but I recall an announcement at Falcon Ridge urging people to buy at the merch tent because all the money goes to the performers as opposed to a store like HMV or Tower which takes a cut. Also, I volunteer at Club Passim and they do not take a cut either (although they used to). _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 7 Jun 2001 16:48:43 -0400 (EDT) From: Berkeley Bush Subject: Edheads: EFO Opener Kitty Snyder Does anyone know anything about Kitty Snyder? I've been to her website & garnered she is an husky-voiced folker from Athens...but I'd kinda like to know more of what to expect tomorrow night. Anyone? Anyone? Found my tape--Mike and Robbie did perform Cantering on Fool at least once, introduced as "a relatively new one" at Cousins Restaurant, Vienna VA, September 1993. Haven't heard it since though. Good stuff--looking forward to hearing a polished version. I think technically it's their second instrumental, isn't it? Previously there was (the absolutely gorgeous) Mimosas in Missouri.
