Just curious how many people have signed up for or plan on booking on the EFO cruise next year? My wife and I are calling to make the initial deposit tomorrow, and we're excited about it. Didn't get to go on last year's trip, so this will be a new adventure for both of us. who knows...maybe the band will decide to make a Tampa appearance while they're passing through the Sunshine State. It's only been 4 years, 2 months, and 17 days since I last saw a live show (but who's counting??). My only regret about moving from Richmond: I ended up in the one state EFO doesn't visit. Counting the days 'til 5/17/2002... Jason ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Apr 2001 07:18:47 -0500 From: Thomas Palmer Subject: RE: Who's going? AFAIK, EFO has not visited Texas since I started listening (1993). The only live show I have caught was in Albany, NY a couple of years ago. I was in Connecticut on business & drove over to Albany for the show... D ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Apr 2001 10:10:27 EDT From: Meganhaskell@aol.com Subject: Re: Who's going? [demime could not interpret encoding binary - treating as plain text] For all of you who live in states where EFO does not play, or not play regularly, you have my sympathy. We only started hearing of them here in northern Michigan about 1997. However since then we have booked them twice in our town and as result of that they worked their way north from here. Now they come back on a fairly regular basis. If they don't play in your state, see if you can track down some club owners or folk society's that would be interested in booking them. Talking to people you know that have influence at music festivals is also a good idea, as that is where a lot of people who book show go to find talent (is it where I find the majority of the people we book here for Gopherwood). Beat the bushes kids. Let the powers that be know you want to see EFO and that you know a lot of other people that feel that same way. It may take time, but in the long run it may pay off. Oh yeah, and if you are wondering what Gopherwood is, it is a non- profit folk society I am involved in that books bands for an eight month concert series here in Cadillac, MI. You can find out more at www.gopherwoodconcert.com Hope you all get to see EFO as much as possilbe (but then again, who gets to do that....haha) See-ya kids Paul (Ned) Brown CORRECTION: EFO nevers visits The SunFlower State. > > Tom in KC > > Just for the record, I'd be interested in knowing what states EFO has or > hasn't played. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jason D. Well, this will probably start a lot of discussion about who's NOT going... but as it looks right now, i won't be there. I was really looking forward to going. The cruise falls on my 21st birthday and I thought that that would be lots of fun. But I really have no way to afford it. Even if I ask for the plane ticket to miami for my birthday, there's no way I can afford the cruise itself. It's a sad thing. I wish that EFO would do another huge trip in a few years that's a little cheaper. I liked the idea of a big ski trip. Oh well. I can't complain. I see EFO all the time here in NC...more than any other band. Of course, now that I say that, I'm about to miss a show in NC in just a few days... okie dokie. Calm down Rhiannon.....the fact that you won't be able to legally consume alcholic beverages while lounging in the sun listening to EFO is not all that bad. You've nonetheless got countless memories of seeing them a handful of times in NC. :-) - --T_in_KC - -----Original Message----- From: rhiannon richard [mailto:rcr0519@mail.ecu.edu] Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2001 9:53 AM To: edheads@efohio.com Subject: Re: Who's going? Well, I understand the inclination to make Rhiannon feel better, but the fact of the matter is that I would urge anyone who has the slightest interest in EFO to beg, borrow, or steal to go on this cruise. Having gone on the first one, I can unequivocally state that it cannot be compared in any way, shape, or form to any concert you've ever been to. It's like having a three-day backstage pass with a couple of private shows thrown in. It was such a great experience that I would go again (if I had the $) despite the fact that I hated the cruise itself. So Rhiannon, I'm sure you can find a couple of friends (AmEx, Visa, Mastercard) to help you get on board. It's worth it.
