Robbie teaches a music class? Aww... that's just adorable. :) Personally, I'd just *love* to hear EFO do "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", a cappella, with Mike doing fake trumpet noises like he does in "Monotony". Is it just me, or would that rock? I think they could also do a swell version of "Java Jive". - --nicole twn *** "Life ocassionally gets more complicated than 'Mary Had A Little Lamb'." - --former artificial intelligence professor Visit Nicolopolis! http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~carlsonn nmcarlson@ucdavis.edu ana.ng@tmbg.org carlsonn@seclab.cs.ucdavis.edu ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Mar 2001 08:14:49 EST From: GeorgeTurtle@aol.com Subject: Puff The Magic Dragon In a message dated 3/28/2001 12:11:02 AM Eastern Standard Time, bunger@nwu.edu writes: > Puff the Magic Dragon is *not* a children's song! That song is so sad, it makes me want to find all my old toys that I have thrown away and hug them. At least I still have math class-- that keeps me returning to the land of make believe every day! I think Julie would do a great job with that one. For Mr. Clem I think perhaps Johny Cash would be appropriate i.e Boy named Sue. For Robbie and the whole crew, I think that The Eagle's Seven Bridges Road would be cool. These are just off the top of my head, and I'm sure more will come to me, but I will refrain from posting any more random thoughts that cross my mind. This has been a fun exercise though. Well, more than ANYTHING, I am a Broadway buff- What I would like to see/hear is Julie covering some of the songs performed by Linda Eder on her CD "It's No Secret Anymore" (or something like that).. I COMPLETELY think that Julie has the voice for it, cause she did some of those B-Way songs on Sophisticated Lady so well! My two cents.. It's pretty hilarious--think they used to do that one back at Bad Habits once in a blue moon. Actually, now that I think about it, it was probably the show in Ann Arbor last fall, right before I moved here. Grr. I'd've liked to see that. And I believe more words should contain multiple apostrophes. On the bright side, they're playing Chicago on Friday, and two shows in Ann Arbor on Saturday, so I guess I shouldn't complain. It's a great version too, that gets better every time they do it. Margaret >On Wed, 28 Mar 2001, Eric Iannacone wrote: > > that The Eagle's Seven Bridges Road would be cool.
