I have stumbled out of bed, sporting my brand new "EFO SUPERHERO" shirt, in order to write this review. It was great!! Wonderful! lol.. not unlike EVERY OTHER SHOW that I've ever recapped here! First off, I'd like to say that my friend and I were the FIRST in line! We got there at 4:10, but it was worth the wait. And while we were standing their, this guy Doug gave us whittling lessons- honest to God! We stood outside the Birchmere, chipping away at little wooden birdies.. And on the NEXT edition of "Random Habits of an Edhead" we will discuss Free Form Fly Fishing! Moving on... There new songs were ALL hilarious! Every single one. Who ever posted the quote about EFO not being angry enough to be punk- well, they're working on it But their songs were all angry in the funniest way. In "The Best of Me" when they review all the nicknames couples have for each other, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing! I liked Grey Eye Glances a lot, too.. Anyone who knows them and was there last night, can you tell me which CDs the third and forth songs they performed were. I thought their slow songs were just wonderful! Alright, that's all now.. Who's coming to the New Years Eve concert with me? I've already got my tickets ready and waiting.. Hope to see some familiar faces there! I just got a new CD- Linda Eder, she's a Broadway singer- I think about every one of the songs she did, Julie would sound GREAT doing.. Since I wasn't there last night I can't tell you what the 3rd and 4th songs were, but on Thursday they played a beautiful song called "Angel" which, IIRC, was inspired by a movie ("Wings of Desire" maybe?). That song is off of their cd "Eventide" which I bought because it also has the one song of theirs I had heard before called "Hard." It's a great CD! don What we do in love and kindness Is all we ever leave behind -- Carrie Newcomer, "Bare To The Bone" Don Semmens; Richmond VA; donsem@concentric.net Visit my Regan Site http://www.concentric.net/~donsem/regan.htm ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 18 Nov 2000 17:13:07 -0400 From: Don Semmens Subject: EFO & 10,000 Maniacs At 09:43 AM 11/17/2000 -0500, TomE@dec-international.com wrote: >1st "A campfire song" 10,000 maniacs *this is a little known duet w/ Michael >Stipe & Natalie Merchant concerning an ogre that takes to much from the land >and wastes it...it's on the same cd as "what's the matter here" and "the >weather"...
