I think you're asking two separate questions, both of which are interesting to think about: 1) Which songs do EFO perform at most concerts? 2) Which songs would you request, given the opportunity to do so? The answer to (1), I think, varies between tours. All I can think of are a few general rules. They almost always play Farmer Brown, and there's always a drum solo. (It's actually interesting to think about which songs they use to incorporate drum solos. I've seen drum solos in the following: Jerusalem, Irish Dream, Very Short Fuse, Cleo & Tony, The Bridge, 29 Ways. I wonder how they pick those? Just "Hey guys, this song right here would sound keen with a djembe intro", or what?) Past couple of tours, there's almost always been at least one gospel song per setlist. Now my fantasy setlist: 1) North Pacific Rain 2) Mistress Snow & Mary Jane Green 3) Bookends 4) This My Town 5) Fifth of July 6) #6 Driver 7) djembe->Not Fade Away/Cleo & Tony 8) Something cool but for some reason forgotten, like "Porchlight" or "Bowling in the Hills" or "Long Walk Home". They can surprise me. 9) Oh My Brother or Santa Margherita... darn, can't decide. :) 10) close with I Know You Rider medley I heard about the 3+ hour, all-request set on the cruise. *sigh* Oh, for a time machine. Anyway, due to a death in my girlfriend's family, I won't be able to use at least one of the two tickets I have for tomorrow (Friday) night's EFO show at the Birchmere. If you need one or two tickets for that show, please email me ASAP at kjones@virginia.edu. I'd like to get what I paid for them, i.e. face value plus service charge, approximately $22.50 per ticket if I remember right.
