Here's my list. These are the ten I'd like to hear, not necessarily the ten that if I were them I would be sure to put on the play list every night. In fact, very few of these tunes have been getting a lot of play lately, but I guess that just goes to show that I'm a fan of the old stuff. 1. I Know You Rider Medley (with a big fat harp solo) 2. Blue Jeans 3. Friend of the Devil (they do a great cover of the old Dead classic) 4. Operator/Jefferson's Theme (yeah, it's two songs... but whatcha gonna do?) 5. Down to the River (off of Julie's first solo CD. It reminds me of the New River and my days at Va. Tech - always cheers me up) 6. 30 Second Love Affair 7. It Ain't Worth 8. Bookends (the same old choreography is just fine) 9. Fly South 10. Very Fine Funeral They used to do covers of Damn This Traffic Jam and Sunshine, both of which I'd love to hear, but not in the top 10. I'd also include the School House Rock medley, but that one is very audience dependent as to how it will go. Anyway, my experiment is done incubating, so it's back to the lab for me. Everytime I hear the "little drummer boy" joke on the Portable EFO, I think about how fun a EFO version of 12 days of Christmas might be. I hope they do the same thing next time, whether its a cruise or whatever else they decide to do. My top 10 list of songs I'd like to see EFO do live (not necessarily the same as my 10 favorite), in no particular order: 1. Our Fair City - never heard them do this one but I think it'd rock - I requested it for the Birchmere on 11/17 and Mike (I'm guessing that's who responded) said they probably wouldn't have thought of this one if I hadn't mentioned it 2. 3 Fine Daughters - doin' the Joe and getting blown away yet again by the a capella part 3. Very Short Fuse - about 3 years ago they used a big ol' Eddie solo to intro into this one - haven't heard it lately 4. Oh My Brother - everything else gets swept away by Julie's vocals on this one 5. Bookends - it's a rather inauspicious song until you see it live - the energy the band puts into it makes it totally different 6. Operator - especially with the new "Blues Brothers" gospel-style part at the end 7. Eddie's Concubine - I love watching Mike's antics on this one 8. Woman of Faith 9. #6 Driver - just...really appeals to something in me, not sure what 10. Doin' Time Under the Lifeguard Stand - three months ago this wouldn't have made the list, but after their rendition on the cruise, complete with "who let the dogs out" refrain, it's a classic Encore - "Irish Blessing" - the band mentioned that they only do this one if they've felt a show was really special to them; I guess I should consider myself lucky to have heard it twice Back to lurking...
