Is anyone on the list familiar with Todd Snider? I have been a fan for several years and recently noticed that he is playing many of the same venues on the left coast as EFO, Kuumbwa being one of them (probably, by virtue of the fact that they are both handled by Flem/Tam). And he will be on the East Coast in late November, early December. Living in tiny Tappahannock VA, if I'm going to see live music, I generally have to travel. Eddie From Ohio is one act I will travel to see. Todd is the other. If you get a chance, check him out. - -- Chip ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 06 Nov 2000 10:25:26 EST From: "Caroline Clayton" Subject: FOR SALE: 2 tickets to EFO 11/17 Birchmere Hi all, Believe it or not some people have things come up that are more pressing than an EFO concert...such is the case with 2 of my friends. Hopefully, their loss can be someone else's gain. I have 2 tickets to sell for the Friday, November 17 concert at the Birchmere. Let me know if you'd like to buy them. Have a great day! "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues" was sort of a novelty song that parodied the grunge craze. It's a fun song, but as you have discovered, isn't really representative of Todd's work. >i had some trouble finding out where because the site i had bookmarked >for him a while back (www.todd-snider.com) seems to be defunct Check out http://www.ohboy.com/ John Prine's label and follow the links. Todd's sort of a protégé of John's. He will also be in Richmond, Easton MD, Chestertown, NYC and Philly in the coming weeks. Enjoy. - -- Chip ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Nov 2000 14:02:59 EST From: Wbsmiles@aol.com Subject: Re: Iota/Todd Snider/was Re: Kuumbwa show review Thanks for the reminder that Dan Bern was playing Iota tonight! I had totally forgotten about that (even with it being on the calendar!). Now I just have to hope I'm not stuck at work late... Smiles, Wendy ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 06 Nov 2000 14:17:39 EST From: Bdupa@aol.com Subject: Bumper sticker Hello all- Had a great time last night in Berkeley, as expected. Fantastic performance and great vibe running through the Freight and Salvage. One of my goals of the evening, along with introducing EFO to yet another friend and having a hoot of a Sunday night, was to acquire a "Folkin' Excellent" bumper sticker. Living in SF, my car bumpers have more scrapes and scratches than an NFL lineman (maybe say for a Redskin who would finish a game clean from not blocking or tackling.) I thought it would be nice to replace my "Yes on A" (bonds for libraries to all of you in San Francisco, are you with me people?) with an Eddie from Ohio sticker. Seems I can't locate one from all the cd's I purchased through the web site. And, they were sold out at the show. And, they are not for sale now on the web site. Any thoughts? Be warned, those of you with these sticky badges of honor-- they're gold! Bill ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V3 #166 *****************************
