There is no product I know of that can protect the autograph on a cotton shirt from fading or running with repeated washings. Sharpies & Clothing markers are chemically different in make-up. The sharpie is great for Jerseys, Baseballs, hockey sticks photo's etc but not something you intend to wear regularly! Any arts craft suggestion I'd have would make the shirt unwearable or look terrible...One thing I can think of is attaching some sort of clear decal over the top and back of the signatures or a spray type sealant like a shelac that would discolor the shirt. yuck! I suggest to frame it with some pictures from the cruise along side it..that is if the shirts/clean and doesn't smell like beer& burritos :) *one other suggestion is maybe cleaning your shirt with *dryel* and not washing it in water at all... I'm prety sure this product will get the smell out and not effect the autograph.... Hope this helps! If anyone knows how to fix the ink in fabric, please forward it along. The ink will fade with repeated washings. We can not suggest or know of any product preserve the marking. Perhaps an art and craft store could advise you. They may need to know that the Sharpie marker contains alcohol base ink. Thank you for e-mailing Sanford and for your support of our products! I was hoping for advice on what I could do to make the ink more stable in the fabric. Also, washing advice would be useful. I am concerned that, for example, sweat might make the ink unstable and more likely to wash out. Thanks, Scott Gartner sgartner@pingbot.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Oct 2000 23:22:38 -0400 From: McCauslands Subject: The EFO that almost wasn't Just wanted to share something that came out at the Q&A on the cruise with the Edheads that weren't able to go. Robbie, in response to a question I have forgotten, mentioned that when Julie went on maternity leave there was serious considerations by each band member about whether they wanted to continue as EFO, although in the end they all decided they were still having too much fun. But what was really interesting was that he then said, "You want to know how close we really came to not being here?" He then related the story of how not long after Julie had joined the band the bank she was working for wanted to give her a promotion that would have required her to move to Cincinnati, and after much soul-searching she decided to take it. She let the band know and they actually held an audition with another potential lead singer. When Robbie mentioned this Julie looked at him incredulously and said "You actually held the audition? I thought you had only scheduled one!" But then at the last minute Julie decided not to go, and the rest is history.
