EFO did Great Day, > and this song that I didn't recognize. wasn't it Operator? boy, is my memory bad. i know they did operator at some point during the weekend, but maybe it was just in their mainstage set. > Fruvous was surprisingly tame, I > was expecting Blow Wind Blow or some variation there of but they did Swing > Low Sweet Chariot and another song that I haven't been exposed to. a bunch of people in the fruvous camp also figured they'd do BWB. i don't know why; the only thing even remotely gospel about it is the mention of Judgment Day. and i'd certainly hope even jian would have enough respect (for people who do like gospel) not to sing his pope verse in a gospel workshop. the other song they did was Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released," which is most well-known from the version that The Band did. they've done it before, mostly during summer and fall of 1998. it's breathtaking when they do it well. i guess it's a good thing that dave was saving his voice (he'd had laryngitis earlier in the week), but unfortunately, jian is not the right person to sing that song. i think he only did one verse, though. but that's a topic for another discussion group. ;) peace, ellen ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V3 #83 ****************************
