Seemed like alot of Virginia plates in the parking lot. As my son said, "ice cream, EFO and fireworks...now thats a festival!" This was our first show since the hiatus, after two abortive attempts. Julie sounds better than ever. Even though it was a short set (45 min), they really wowed the crowd, which was mostly non-edheads. One strange thing about the set though. With the exception of "Operator", they did only Fishbowl songs or unrecorded stuff. Nothing older at all. I assume they did that since it was a general public show full of the uninitiated and not many people would be screaming for "Farmer Brown" or "This My Town" anyway. Anybody else seen this lately? The new songs sounded great though, especially "Driver #6". I hope that there is a new album (ok CD...I date myself) in the works. See ya at Philly Folk! This might have been mentioned ages ago also, but I also noticed that it seems that Eddie played a lot more on the drum set (not even on stage in past years) rather than his congas. Was this true or did I only look to him when he was at the drum set? >===== Original Message From SuperVet2x@aol.com ===== >In a message dated 07/10/00 8:16:58 AM Eastern Daylight Time, >CBonfig1@aol.com writes: > ><< One strange thing about the set though. I think when he goes to all the trouble of setting up the drum kit, he tends to use it alot. That's alot of effort for him. It's not as simple as plugging in and tuning your guitar. And alot of venues that EFO plays don't always have the stage space for him to spread out like that. Interestingly enough, the first time I saw him perform with the expanded drum kit was a show last September right there in Wilmington also. Unfortunately it was right after Hurricane Floyd and the crowd wasn't huge for their Delaware premiere. They got a much bigger, although more polite crowd this time.
