I wrote up a list of what to bring, that turned out somewhat longer than I expected when I started the reply :) After writing it up and posting to nields-nook, I got a lot of feedback, posted to some other lists, repeated the following year... This year, I've made it into a web page: http://cos.polyamory.org/frfflist.html This message is being posted to: nields nook, alt.music.moxy-fruvous, edheads, dar list, suspects [I am subscribed to all of the above except dar list, but if you have feedback please email me directly because I may miss list postings.] -- Cos (Ofer Inbar) -- cos@aaaaa.org cos@polyamory.org -- WBRS Waltham 100.1 FM -- info@wbrs.org http://www.wbrs.org/ "Long live folk music, and this doomed festival!" -- moxy fruvous ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jul 2000 12:20:27 -0700 (PDT) From: Nicole Carlson Subject: EFO: Re: What to bring to Falcon Ridge On Thu, 6 Jul 2000, Ofer Inbar wrote: > This year, I've made it into a web page: > http://cos.polyamory.org/frfflist.html Ahhh, Falcon Ridge. :D Who else is going? Roll call! Looks like EFO got a better timeslot for their mainstage performance! This is good... FRFF management must have been impressed. Gospel workshop is a go again, good; anyone care to speculate on other workshops they'll do? Personally I'd like to see them in the Funny Songs workshop... EFO have a great, warped sense of humor, but they're not usually thought of as a "funny" band. The only things I'd add to Cos's hyper-complete list are 1) earplugs, and 2) sleeping pills, and only because *I* found them useful. I need sleep in order to function, and FRFF is basically a 'round the clock party. Friday night I tossed and turned while someone played the same three guitar chords in the next tent over; Saturday night I borrowed a sleeping pill from Jess (who, wiser than I, had brought some), slept like a log, and woke up feeling *great*. And maybe a little backpack to haul around all your valulalables would come in handy. Cos's tea idea is right on. I only wish I'd brought more tea bags last year. I spent all of FRFF last year sucking down water, and it was still nowhere near enough. I told this to my excercise-science-major roommate, who recommended half-strength Kool-Aid, half-strength Crystal Light, or non-caffeinated tea (caffeine speeds dehydration) in addition to water--something about "replenishing electrolytes" (which *I* always thought was an REM song, but what do I know?). Man, I can't wait. :) See you guys there! - --nicole twn *** "If you decided to sell your happiness, for how much would you sell it?" - --Moxy Fruvous Visit Nicolopolis! http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~carlsonn nmcarlson@ucdavis.edu ana.ng@tmbg.org carlsonn@seclab.cs.ucdavis.edu ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jul 2000 16:33:17 EDT From: JRaimo007@aol.com Subject: EFO: Re: What to bring to Falcon Ridge I'll be there. I'm psyched. I get to see EFO 3 weekends in a row. Lowell, MA this weekend, Earlville, NY next weekend, and Faclon Ridge the next. My best advise for what to bring: Lots of water / Poweraid / Gatoraide (etc.) and battery operated fans. It got really hot last year and there isn't a lot of shade on the farm. Looking forward to meeting fellow Edheads.... - JIM RAIMO ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V3 #72 ****************************
