Because it was the only negative thing and 2). Because it's in my subject line. So, we're having a GREAT time at Friday Cheers, the band is heading towards the home stretch and BOOM! the drunken DJs come on stage and tell the band to play an encore. It's only 9:15 and they have to QUIT????? Must be some Brown's Island rule only because as I was walking back to my car there was another "after hours" party still going on just 3-4 blocks away. Anyway, apparently we missed about 3-4 songs including One and Hojo's. Now the positive: GREAT SHOW! Brown's Island is a fantastic place, lots of space, grass, beautiful scenery. The dual portrait of Robert E. Lee and John Rocker is very interesting... (ok, that's not really there). In the "never seen EFO play live before" category: "Angel From Montgomery" and "Uncle John's Band" (which also goes in the "most appropriate setting for a song" category). Other highlights include: Eddie's incredible solo which started on the Jimbae and finished on his drum kit, Great Day (always), Suite: Judy Blue Eyes (with Karen Savoca and Pete Heitzman), dueling vocals with Julie and Pat Magee, and new song "Number Six Driver." The Richmond edheads came out to support the band. I think the final count was just shy of 400,000. Good job Richmond! :-) don Come Senators, Congressmen, we're in a bind Don't think we're ungrateful, don't think we're unkind Does the NRA own you, now make up your mind If our children to you are worth savin' Tell Charlton Heston he can kiss my behind For the times they are a-changin' Updated lyrics to "The Times They Are A-Changin'" by The Kennedys (as HaHaHa) -- Birchmere 6/3/2000 ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Jun 2000 11:05:39 -0700 (PDT) From: tres watson Subject: show WOW!!! what a show. The guys were great afterwards, and if any of them happen to read this, thanks for signing the shirt for my sisters 16th birthday, she loved it. The reason that they have to shut down so early is b/c the bars in Sckoe slip help to sponsor it with the deal that they shut down by 10pm so that people can come get drunk at their bars. About the show, I loved the continous comments about the hobo's living in the Trains above Browns Island and their use of crack and love of the dead. Some great comedy bits came out of that!! Tres ===== "Kiss my ass, i've bought a boat, and i'm headed out to sea"- Lyle Lovett "That's how it happens living life by the drop"- Stevie Ray Vaughn" "MTv make me want to smoke crack"- Beck "All my work is done. Time to get real dumb." Dixie Power Trio __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
