Prior to EFO coming out, the promotor had three local sisters (ages 6-8-10?) come up on stage and do an acapella version of Operator. Absolutely amazing. I imagine thats what the Nields sisters were like at that age! You could tell that the band was impressed by the way Julie and Robbie stood in the doorway with their jaws open. A tough act to follow. But they did a great show. Eddie was a maniac, doing extended solos on Irish Dream and The Bridge. His mid-song solo in The Bridge may have been the longest I've ever seen him do. He "played" Robbie's guitar until I believe Robbie (and his ribs) begged for mercy. He played so long my chest hurt! The set list: Fifth of July Woman of Faith Old Dominion 20,000 Hearts From Dacca Great Day One Rowboat to Rio (complete with the mid-section bastardization of "O Come All Ye Faithful" last heard on the Bad Habits CD) Irish Dream Maylee I Had a Dream Stupid American Minnesota 1945 The Bridge Eddie's Concubine Train Song Encore: Three Fine Daughters Silent Night (off-mike) Of course the evening wouldn't be complete without Mike sticking his foot in his mouth at least once. The venue they played in is a Methodist church. He mentioned that the standing room only crowd was the biggest that place had ever drawn....including Easter services! Way to win over the locals Mike! Anybody else Tin Angel bound on Saturday? Happy Holidays, Chuck ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V2 #188 *****************************
