But before I get to that part, the festival. Way cool and all that, except that it was about 40 degrees too hot. Loved EFO's mainstage set, partially because Joe came down and talked to me while waiting for his dance to come up during Farmer Brown. The cover songs workshop was absolutely awesome, as many people have already mentioned. However, the best workshop I saw all weekend was probably the love songs one, with the Nields and Fruvous, where Fruvous debuted their freakish tent song. I think the chorus was something like: The killer tents are coming over the hill At first we thought them harmless, but now they're set to kill At Falcon Ridge this summer we've enraged the falcon gods The tents have turned to creepy crawly body snatching pods Um, yeah. So...for those who don't know, I drove across the country with a couple of friends to see this. Like, from one ocean to another. Our only real reason was so that we could actually go climb Devil's Stairs against ranger's advice. Which I did. In Birkenstocks. In other words, I spent about 100 hours in a car so I could get sore feet. But, we did find a very helpful (if creepy) ranger who specifically advised us not to climb the Devil's Stairs. He's got a picture of us now, since he seemed to think I was...interesting, or something. You'd think he'd never seen a long-haired pink-streaked cow-shirted Birkenstock-wearing Asian with a "Deadly Ninja Throwing Button" giggling uncontrollably in that part of the country before. Strange. So anyway, I'm finally back home, and that's my relatively contentless Falcon Ridge story. Enjoy. Someday I hope to see them actually get Interesting! I wonder who wrote their parts. Did EFO send them sheet music, or did they ad-lib it all, or what? - --nicole twn p.s. Was the list down earlier?
