If that doesn't work, nothing will. :) Since you're already shanghai'ing them to a live show, I predict that they have no chance for escape and will turn into raving Edheads before Saturday. > this is > what i am putting on my tape: (I just knew that if I waited long enough, this thread would pop up here.) I think I'd have shoehorned "Bookends" and/or "North Pacific Rain" somewhere in there (possibly replacing "Doing Time...", but that's just me), but other than that, it sounds way cool. I just saw EFO at the Iron Horse show and they played a set that was very heavily slanted toward the new album, I believe 9 songs off the new album plus the some of the CLASSICS (3 Fine Daughters, The Bridge). I would expect that the Falcon Ridge set will be very similar. As an FYI EFO is playing Friday night at 6:30pm and then doing workshops on Saturday and then leading a Gospel sing along on Sunday morning. Enjoy the festival. I wish I could make it there to see EFO. -----Original Message----- From: Amy J. On another note, does anyone know about whether or not FRFF will allow people in early? I remember a bit of discussion about that over on alt.music.moxy-fruvous, but my access at the moment is a bit limited. 2000-odd miles down, 1500 or so to go. I've had great luck with Portable efo Shows. I give them out to friends and most of the recipients become EFO fans. I remember having played EFO material at WBRS from their studio albums a few years ago and thinking it was pretty good stuff, but not getting really excited about them until I saw them live. After that, the studio material took on a different ... flavor. Now, I don't know if that would've happened if Fishbowl had been out, with its amazing production and arrangment and instrumentation. But overall I'm cautious about trying to use studio material to introduce people to EFO who have never seen them live. I think even some people who have the potential to become strong EFO fans might not get "hooked". So I would recommend you use stuff from the Portable and Fishbowl, primarily. Or, if you can afford it, do what I do: buy Portables for all your friends :) Although, the a capella breaks in Gravity and Farmer Brown are some of EFO's most attention-grabbing moments. I might use those on an EFO intro tape. And the only released recording of Gravity is one of the earlier studio recordings, so that's a worthy exception to make. The Portable efo Show recording of The Bridge is an absolute must, unless you happen to have some other Eddie drum solo you can put on the tape. Lots of people become EFO fans because of Eddie's drumming, it's what first gives them the incentive to go out to a live show. > and who else is going to falcon ridge?
