Berkeley is, of course, absolutely right. The trend recently has been to use "it" when referring to celestial bodies: NASA uses "it" pretty consistently (check the websites); so does Arthur C. Clarke (and if you can't trust *him*, who *can* you trust? :) and, I'd say offhand, probably most writers. Nevertheless, it's clear that celestial bodies don't take the same gender as whoever they happen to be named after. Silly me. :) I came across this extremely interesting tidbit on Fleming-Tamulevich's website today (I wasn't there to look at EFO's schedule, but I figured I'd have a peek while I was there) (This is publicly available information, by the way): 10/13/00 Belair Travel Edhead Cruise Miami FL 800-638-2878 (Miami-Nassau-Miami) Note a distinct lack of any words like "tentative".
