The boathouse is about 1/2 - 3/4 a mile downstream (upstream?) from the island, but never got TOO close to it. We'd always row away from it. I'm not certain, but I believe the current's way too strong to row THAT closely. - --- zenhut@esinet.net wrote: > Hey Edheads, > > > I happen to know that Mike wrote "The Three Fine Daughters of Farmer > Brown" > based on a book about ghosts in the Washington D.C. area. The Lime Kiln Theatre has a beautiful outdoor concert setting in Lexington, VA. It's a great place to bring a picnic and enjoy the natural setting. I also liked the fact that concert staff would let patrons go to and from their cars during the concert. I was impressed seeing the Seldom Scene there last year. I just got the Lime Kiln schedule in the mail and they have a wonderful line-up of acts this year including: Cheasapeake, Robin and Linda Williams, Patty Larkin, Peter Rowan & Tony Rice, The Bobs, and The Kingston Trio. General admission for the EFO show is $17 and reserved seats are going for $19. I recommend the general admission because it is an intimate setting, and probably seats about 350, with some room to throw a frisbee on the lawn. If you are interested in tickets you can call (540) 463-3074. Hope to see you at the show.
