Well, I'm not in the area, but if you send me the DAT I can make CDs for you (and clone the DAT for myself *grin*) no problem. > Next question.... I have never indexed a DAT before (because I didn't want to not because I don't know how). I usually have 2 start IDs on it. One for 1 minute blank space I put at the head of the tape and one for the start of the show. These come from putting my deck in Auto-ID mode. You can go back and put start IDs in if you want, but I wouldn't do it. I don't think people are gonna want tracked access to the DAT. The fact that the archive exists is the important part. But if you did want to track it, you could just play the tape and hit the Write Start Id button on the deck. There probably is one of those, but if it is a portable, it may be hidden behind another function. But to me it is a lot easier to track after you get the show onto a computer. I use Goldenhawk's CDRWin which lets you write up a cue sheet for the tracks so you don't have to break up the show into lots of little WAV files. It's really great and flexible. Interested, check out http://www.goldenhak.com. Hope some of that helps. - Chad ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 May 1999 14:12:54 -0700 (PDT) From: "Jess." Subject: Nissans, and James Bond I noticed an anomoly in James Bond the other day... It says that the ex drove a '83 Nissan but (as I drive this particular monstrocity myself) Nissan was Datsun until 84, when they came out with the Sentra. Thought I'd share that perfectly useless thought of the day. :> Jess ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jessica Whiting Brown 127 Arroyo Dr. Irvine Ca. 92612 "They say it's mostly vanity that writes the plays we act They tell me that's what everybody knows There's no such thing as sanity, and that's the sanest fact That's the way the story goes..." -Dire Straits, _One World_ e-mail: brownj@uci.edu, Ihave8en@aol.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 May 1999 14:15:12 -0700 (PDT) From: "Jess." If anyone out there remembers taking me ... could you e-mail the info to me again? Thanks!
