Robbie held the guitar in place while Eddie banged away on the the body and the strings. At one point his hands were moving so fast they reminded me of a helicopter. I've never seen the band cut up so much as they did on stage all Saturday night. Mike made Julie laugh so hard she had to stop three or four times during the big finish of "Love You Like a Man." True to her form, however, she sounded amazing when DID stop laughing and sing. And I have to add that I LOVED the hand signals for Old Dominion. I couldn't stop laughing. Good thing _I_ didn't have to sing. > On Wed, 5 May 1999, Berkeley Bush wrote: Yes! At the Friday Birchmere show Eddie "played" Robbie's guitar. Eddie also "played" the guitar when EFO did a show down here in Blacksburg at the Lyric theater a few weeks ago. Kevin Kevin L. Truly awesome. I saw them there around the holidays last year (shortly before the last BH show) and they did this. My boyfriend and I were astounded and amazed by it! It's quite incredible! My guess is that either a) this is something that's only done at the Birchmere, which I hope isn't true or b) they might start incorporating it into their shows everywhere, which I hope IS true! He switched guitars before letting Eddie loose on it, I guess it was an old one. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 May 1999 21:59:12 -0400 From: atemple Subject: RE: Eddie's "guitar" solo ===== Original Message From Kevin L Wells kwells@vt.edu ===== At 08:57 PM 5/5/99 -0700, you wrote: On Wed, 5 May 1999, Berkeley Bush wrote: It is a little like what Eddie does on Robbie's guitar during his Bridge solo. ??? I saw Eddie do this a while ago in Knoxville and it was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen indoors. I guess it's just one more way to see that EFO is not your "run-of-the-mill folkie band. At least, it SHOULDN'T be... Hear, hear! I propose that we do a big sharing thing, where everyone lists other bands that people would like, so that we all can share the love. Right? Who's with me? I shall then, list off other bands that I think are EFO-esque, at least, I like them... (categorized into types, although many defy categories, so I will strategically place them in the non-categorical category.) Folky: Jump Little Children, the Nields, Indigo Girls, Kristen Hall, Natalie Merchant, the Sundays, the Murmurs, Cat Stevens, Dar Williams, Dougie MacLean, Rockapella, Big Fish Eat Little Fish. Celtic: Great Big Sea, Natalie MacMaster, Leahy, Rawlins Cross, Irish Descendants, Barra MacNeils, The Rankins, Ashley MacIsaac. Non-Categorical: Moxy Fruvous, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Bela Fleck, Barenaked Ladies, They Might Be Giants, Willy Porter (awesome guitarist!). Music Lovins, Ferf (who heard about EFO from alt.music.moxy-fruvous, and about Moxy Fruvous from alt.music.barenaked-ladies, and about Barenaked Ladies from picking up a random tape in a music store six years ago.) - ----------------- [ REKLAMA / ADVERTISEMENT ] ------------------- Twoja nowa podręczna przyjemność on-line !!!
