If you haven't gotten your name in on the tree, you have until 2/21 to do so. - ---Jeff--- Jeff Angwin wrote: > Hi Everyone > > This is the CD Tree announcement for the final Bad Habits show. > > The tree signup will CLOSE on February 21, 1999 (after that date, try contacting a branch of the tree directly) > > It is a 4 CD set of one killer 4 hour (plus) show from 12/15/98 > > The tree is open to everyone, and anyone who wants a copy of the CD can have one for just the cost of blank CD-R media and postage. > > I am working on the masters today, and have just completed disc 1. Thanks to Scott Sciarrino for his excellent quality Digitally recorded master discs, to Kevin Jones for capturing the entire show without gaps on a VHS HiFi tape, and to Carolyn Bragg for her help and support throughout this whole process. Because of this great team, I am able to re-create a very high quality CD set that misses nothing. It's like you are there! > > -- > > For those of you who are new to CD tree's here's how it works: It's a community effort. Everyone who's interested in sharing the music, who CAN help by copying multiple sets of the CD, helps. Those who can not help... well, that's cool too. We don't all have fast computers with CD Writers, now do we? > > So, if you want to receive the CD set at cost, but can not make more copies, you're called a LEAF. Leafs have a Parent, but no Children. Leafs send their Parents Blanks and Postage, or other bartering material in exchange for the CD set. > > If you CAN burn CD's then you're expected to sign up to be a Parent to as many Leafs (who are your Children) as you reasonably can. I usually sign up for five when I join a tree. The great part about being a Parent is that you can then trade the CD that you're sending to your children for more music! It's a great way to build your collection of concert tapes and CD's. (but... you might get children who don't have anything to trade and will instead send you Blanks and Postage. That's OK too!) > > I will collect the names and email addresses of everyone who wants to participate. I'll then make the tree structure and post it to this email list. It's up to the parents to contact their children, and up to the children to contact their parent. Between the two of you, you'll decide how to make the trade. Trades for Blanks and Postage should be "one for one" that is, for a 4 CD set, the child sends the parent 4 Blank CD-R's and postage to get them back. > > One more thing, unique to this tree: The members of the band, and CB and Bob... no... wait... they ARE members, are they not? have asked me to give them copies of this very special show. So, I'm looking for 5 (since 5 of you and me makes 6) branches who can each make an extra copy of the show for nothing (material) in return. You'll be asked to send your CD set to CB, who will in turn pass it on to your favorite band member. If you've GOT a favorite, let me know, and I'll make sure that he / she gets your copy. Those guys play their hearts out for us, and they deserve no less. If I get multiple offers, then the first five offers I receive, get to make the CD's. > > Now for your mission, should you decide to accept it... > > Fill out the following form, and send it to me, mailto:jeff@cadence.com > > IMPORTANT! put the words "EFO TREE PARENT" or "EFO TREE LEAF" in the SUBJECT line. > Otherwise your message will get lost in my email box, never to be seen again. > > --------------cut here---------------------- > > Name: > email address: > City > State > > If you are signing up to be a parent: > > Number of CD sets you can make for this tree: > I CAN make an extra CD set for a member of the band: Yes / No > If YES, I prefer that my CD set is sent to: __________ > or No Preference _______ > > Equipment used to burn CD's: > Can you burn "DISK AT ONCE" CD's? > > --------------cut here ---------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Feb 1999 00:40:21 +0500 From: Jack Mitchell Subject: EFO TREE LEAF I sent in my info a while back, but realized that I forgot to put the right thing in the subject....if you've got me on the list already, just ignore this.
