It was recorded by The Kingston Trio April 2, 1964 for Capitol Records. The song was written by Chet Powers. However, it was later that We Five (as well as The Youngbloods) used the song to have chart hits. Although not a hit single, the Carpenters also recorded it. Others did as well, but I can't remember them all. Please don't forget to put "Edheads:" in the Subject area of your posts. Subject: Random Edhead experiance Hi! i just wanted to share this experiance I had last week. I'm in Orange County, not known for it's appreciation of folk music, and i never thought I'd run into a random edhead ... But I did. I was at this World Affairs Concil Dinner with a few other students and I was talking to the girl sitting next to me about how I was terribly excited to go see EFO, this band I like, in Febuary. She looks at me with the strangest expression on her face and says ..." EFO?, Eddie from Ohio? You know them?" Much comiserating after that and I might be able to rope her into the Santa Monica show ... Who knew that even in Irvine, we have people with taste. ;> Jess - The OC wilderbeastie ******************************************************************************** Jessica Whiting Brown 127 Arroyo Dr. Irvine Ca. 92612 "For it is pleasure that causes us to do base actions, and pain that causes us to abstain from fine ones." -Aristotle phone: 949.854.4370 e-mail: brownj@uci.edu ******************************************************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Jan 1999 16:53:05 -0500 From: "Seth D. Hornstein" Subject: bootlegs... Ok I have a question for everyong. I am listening to the last bad habits show and was noticing that there is alot of talking before the songs. When I made my mp3's I cut out most of the filler talking and only left something if I thought it was significantly funny or useful. If that was the case, I usually made it a seperate track so I could skip it at some later time if I chose that I didn't want to listen to it... What is the general concensus? Am I wasting my time doing all that and people would rather hear the entire show but just have to sit through the talking at the beginning of each track or should I continue to edit the chitchat our for the most part. Just curious. Seth - ----------------------- http:/sps1.phys.vt.edu/~seth When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. BUT, I don't like to have the talking on the same track as the song. That way, after I've heard it a few dozen times, I can skip the talk and go directly to the music. So, whenever I make a CD, I never cut ANYTHING, and I put each talk segment, as well as each song into it's own track. - ---Jeff--- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Jan 1999 16:58:11 -0500 From: "Geoff Endlich" Subject: RE: bootlegs... Another nice way to do it is to put the talking at the very end of the track so the beginning of the song is the music and you don't double the number of tracks on the disk by keeping mike's antics between the songs :) - -Geoff Endlich - -----Original Message----- From: owner-edheads@efohio.com [mailto:owner-edheads@efohio.com] On Behalf Of Jeff Angwin Sent: Wednesday, January 20, 1999 4:49 PM To: Seth D. I mentioned EFO to the group camping on the site next to us and a man responded "eddie from Ohio..... Folking excellent" Although he was unfamilar with the band, he has seen their stickers on cars on the road _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
