You can go to their website and vote for your five favorite. I think we'd all love to see Portable EFO Show finish on the list, so vote early and vote often! I'd like to hear what everyone would vote for too. I'd like to hear what everyone would vote for too. Much as I'd like to stuff the ballot box for EFO (and Moxy Fruvous; Live Noise kicks!), I am *NOT* going to give my name and address away like that. Call me paranoid. Call me a privacy freak. Call me Ishmael. But they have no legitimate need for that information, and their attempt to collect it borders on the sleazy. Were I to vote, however, I suspect my list would contain the following: Portable EFO Show Live Noise--Moxy Fruvous Rant and Roar--Great Big Sea Severe Tire Damage--They Might Be Giants (worth it for the fast version of "Why Does The Sun Shine?" alone, though I do wish they'd included their cover of "Mr. Tambourine Man".) Hmmm... I bought a lot of CDs this year, but not all of them were released in '98. - --nicole twn *** "Today you'll be learning how to model your love lives as a series of second-order ordinary differential equations."--former math professor Visit Nicolopolis! http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~carlsonn ICQ #11984736 Public PGP key at http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~carlsonn/key.html ncarlson@mail.arc.nasa.gov nmcarlson@ucdavis.edu ana.ng@tmbg.org ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Dec 1998 08:23:58 EST From: CBonfig1@aol.com Subject: Re: Edhead: Top 50 CDs of 1998 In a message dated 12/7/98 1:24:34 AM Eastern Standard Time, ana.ng@tmbg.org writes: << Much as I'd like to stuff the ballot box for EFO (and Moxy Fruvous; Live Noise kicks!), I am *NOT* going to give my name and address away like that. They wanna know who you are and add you to their mailing list so they can beg money from you at pledge drive time. It doesn't say though that you must include your info to vote, only to be eligible for prize drawings. So l continue to vote anonymously.... I'd like to thank everyone who's sent in any contributions to the list of EFO tunes. I've got a pretty big list, now. I also got a bunch direct from the band themselves on this week's tour. They practiced a few old tunes, and merely relived the memories of others. I will be compiling the list over the next couple of weeks and will post it after the last BH show. Can anyone think of some EFO originals which are not yet recorded? Please include the newer ones, too. Thanks! Mm hmm." EFO does the one done by the Pointer Sisters, according to Julie. Don't know if they wrote it or even performed it originally. "I'm drivin' in my car. I turn on the radio..."; "...My words, they spit (hock, spit), but you know I'm a liar, 'cause when we kiss, oo-ooo, Fire!" And we can't forget the sing along part: "Romeo and Juliet..." Just so none of you expect to hear Bruce's version on Tuesday.
