Poor Nomar Garciaparra. With Mo Vaughn gone to the Angels now, Nomar is the one big bat left in their line-up. Hmmmm, Nomar...sounds like Omar..... Nomar's Got A Problem (Ode to the mourning Red Sox fans) Nomar's got a problem Mo has left for LA Mo quickly left for LA Nomar's got a problem He can't carry the Sox He won't carry the Sox His mind wanders back and forth Between the Yanks and the O's The Tribe and the Jays The Rangers and the Angels The Yanks and the O's The Tribe and the Jays All the ones who've got What Nomar doesn't have Nomar's got a problem He can't be a cleanup hitter He won't be a cleanup hitter Nomar's got a problem How will they catch the Bombers Now they'll never catch the Bombers And all this time he don't even know CHORUS Nomar makes you rethink Every little hope You ever had for this season Nomar sees you looking Right through him and thinks to himself Now I know what happened To Wade and the Rocket Nomar's got a problem He can't stop staring At his long term contract Nomar's got a problem He can't imagine Will ever only imagine The taste of that Cold sweet champagne CHORUS Well, I thought it was funny! How about Mike -- rumor has it that you read the list -- you wanna give over some of the titles of covers that we've missed thus far. (if youhavent heard of them, they are a super energetic celtic/ acoustic/rock band from newfoundland). i'm surprised, given the double bill, that the roof wasnt blown off the club. EFO played about 45 min. i didnt write down the set list, but it included fruited plain, gravity, farmer brown, bookends, operator, the bridge and the train song (and i'm sure i'm missing a few). judging by the crowd response when julie asked if this was anyone's first EFO show, there were a number of new fans made. lots of good new exposure from another fine, high energy set. best news to have come from that, which i hadnt heard before, was that EFO is going to be recording in the month of january so there will be a new album before long! _________ amy p. \ / Who holds your hand pegasus@crl.com \ / When you're alone monk@world.std.com \ / the original photo monk \ / --Patty Larkin http://www.crl.com/~pegasus ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Dec 1998 19:46:07 EST From: Bdupa@aol.com Subject: Re: boston reveiw 12/3/98 What a strange world we live in. At the last EFO show in Berkeley, the opening act was Shawn Mullins, of "Lull-a-buy, Rock-a-buy" fame. He just came out and played by himself (a great set) and the EFO came out and also blew it out. This was about two weeks before Mr. Mullins' song started carpet bombing the play lists of what seemed like every radio station. If he can have his excellent CD on sale at Target, I know, given the opportunity, EFO would be king. Does anybody on this list live on the West Coast? A friend of mine turned me on to EFO (actually he just played a tape while driving) and then I accidently ended up at the "Bad Habits" on a Tuesday night. Since I live in San Francisco, there's more to the story. Anyway, there's a group of about four friends from a soccer team who get together for the shows. Maybe next show, we could hook up.
