Please send in lists of songs you've heard EFO play. (I'm going to assume that unrecorded EFO originals (e.g. Maylee, Old Dominion, MN '45, etc.) are also off-limits.) I personally have heard them cover: that song that goes "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone..." the one that goes "When the lights go down in the city..." "Sunrise, Sunset" (from _Fiddler on the Roof_) a bit of what sounded like "Hava Nagila" (traditional) And I know they've done a few Indigo Girls songs... "Closer to Fine" and "Galileo" spring to mind. - --nicole the "waiting for them to cover 'California Dreamin'" wonder nerd ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 29 Nov 1998 12:24:28 EST From: EFOcrew@aol.com Subject: Re: EFO: Last BH shows In a message dated 98-11-28 13:34:57 EST, you write: << (I'm going to assume that unrecorded EFO originals (e.g. Maylee, Old Dominion, MN '45, etc.) are also off-limits.) >> Actually, new ones are not off limits. I'm doing a little chart of original ("Smoke") and/or recorded (but not necessarilty original - "Operator") tunes, and another list just of covers which have not been recorded. I want to see just how long the show would be if they played every song they knew (or knew at some point). They've got almost 100 (or more, because I'm sure I'm missing quite a few of the unrecorded) original songs. I am also including solo songs done as EFO (30 Secong Love Affair from Robbie's solo CD is played very often by the band). So, basically, I'm collecting any song that EFO has ever played, including the little "bits" in the middle of songs. Well, maybe I'll skip the John Denver covers, as they sang basically every song by John Denver to the music of the "Train Song." Oh..., what the heck, we can do a whole seperate list just for those. Send John D. covers under the heading "EFO: John Denver". Come on people, rack your brains! Tapers, you've been to lots of shows, and have a permanantly recorded memory of those shows. I've only gotten a couple of responses so far, with only a few in each. I know, it's only been a day, and it's hard to see the band a lot when you live in, say, CA, but send in songs you might have heard on a tape of a show, too. So far, I'm guessing the show would have to be at least a weekend, what with all of the clever banter in between songs and the hour long breaks every 90 minutes! : ) JK they only take long breaks at BH, and we all know how many more of those there are! Have a great weekend! CB ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 29 Nov 1998 12:51:40 -0600 From: Johnson Subject: [none] To all friends of the traveling minstrels... This is not EFO writing to you. No...I am the great Gnome King! I command legions of tiny men and women with huge noses and oversized feet. We have kidnapped your four, talented friends and are now keeping them locked up with the gremlins, where they belong. The bastards walked in on one of our tea parties the other day. They scared the hell out of the fox that was going to give us a ride home on its back, so we ended up walking. Needless to say...WE WERE PISSED! If you want them back you are going to have to provide six trillion dollars worth of the standard gnome currency (that would be masking tape). You can leave it outside your individual places of dwelling. AND NO TRICKS! If you try anything funny...ANYTHING FUNNY...and we'll put them in the cell with the purple nazi shnortzwitzzles...YOU KNOW HOW MUCH EFO HATES PURPLE NAZI SHNORTZWITTZLES! What's that? You don't believe us? Okay...we'll let them say a word or two... EFO: HELP!...GNOMES...EVERYWHERE!...WON"T STOP... WATCHING TELLA TUBBIES!...TOO CUTE! TOO CUTE... HA-HA! You have three days...THREE DAYS! After that we'll start the torture...I swear to you...we WILL tickle them till they're pink in the face.
