Hornstein" Subject: EFO MP3 site... Well, first off, my sincere apologies to anyone who has tried to access the site lately and found it not up. But there is good news, IT'S BACK! (finally) just in case you forgot: The ftp address is 198.82.107.170 Login: EFO (all caps) Password: GOCEFO (all caps) If you are logging in from a browser, use the command ftp://EFO:GOCEFO@198.82.107.170 (anonymous login will get you nowhere and will be disabled soon) Please let me know if you experience any problems with the site. (We had to end up nuking WinNT from the thing and installing Linux and are trying to learn linux ftpd as we go along.) Some settings may be tweaked around for the next couple of days but in general it is up and running as we speak... Thanks! I am used to seeing them in places like the Handlebar (Greenville, SC), so it was a little bit smaller (as you can imagine), but I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people that showed up. At first everyone was sort of mellow, but it didn't take very long and it was obvious by the crowd response and participation that everybody was really into it. It was a really good time, and I think that will be the smallest crowd ever here considering that word of mouth will probably draw a huge crowd from now on. Another word for anyone living in or around Knoxville. The place they played, "The Bird's Eye View" is brand new. I was really impressed and the owner seems pretty dedicated to establishing it as a folk venue, rather than just a "whatever sells type of place." He's got some good stuff coming up, so lets help keep this place thriving so we can see some more EFO here. Also--A song that should be recorded is "Irish Blessing." If it was sung at Julie's wedding and things are going well, imagine what it could do for ticket sales. Just kidding, but I think it is a great tune and ought to be released. It has been released, but not really by EFO. It's on Julie's first solo album, _No Rules_, sung by Julie, her brother and sister, and Robbie. Speaking of solo albums--it was a while before I got around to getting Robbie's solo album, but I'm glad I did. I didn't know they played "Full of Herself" live, but that's good because I think it's one of the standout tracks. (I know people like that. In fact, the entire UC Davis chapter of Campus NOW is like that, which is why I don't go to meetings anymore. But I digress.) Now that the mp3 site is back up, I'll have to download it. - --nicole twn *** "Think about your salad dressing... sort of a meditation on salad..."--my materials science professor Visit Nicolopolis! http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~carlsonn ICQ #11984736 Public PGP key at http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~carlsonn/key.html ncarlson@mail.arc.nasa.gov nmcarlson@ucdavis.edu ana.ng@tmbg.org ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 22:26:04 +0500 From: Jack Mitchell Subject: Re: October 23--Knoxville, TN At 08:24 PM 10/25/98 -0500, atemple wrote: >Also--A song that should be recorded is "Irish Blessing." Actually, it has been released.
