(Good at That) (EFO related question at end of this note) Hi All! Wow it's great to be back! I missed you so much since yesterday! It turns out that I was right. Miscommunication is the main cause of so many problems. The flamer and I have kissed and made up, and that person really is nice, I'm just not always clear about what I'm writing. I will try to do better. Thanks to all of those who have written saying that they would miss my posts. I actually got a little teary eyed knowing that you like me! I may get a little (HaH!) wordy at times, but just remember: if you don't want to read my lengthy posts, you have the power to ignore and delete them. Thanks for putting up with my overuse of the list, I know I'm one of the more frequent posters, but I'm just a social butterfly who can't keep her mouth shut! I must express my opinions, good and bad, or I'd explode. You wouldn't want me to explode, would you? Bob would have to go back to working with EFO every week, and his daughter and wife would miss him very much. Thanks for the kind words, and let's discuss some EFO stuff! I think they're going to record one of my favorites, "Good at That" on the new album. I am so excited! Anyone else have any non-recorded favorites that they'd like to see/hear on an upcoming recording? I want to give one to a friend of mine for Christmas. I'd like to hear their submission for the Virginia state song (can't think right offhand what the title to that is, and I'm going to feel *REALLY* silly if it's "Good at That"). In fact, I'd love to see it established as such. I am not "up" on politics at all, so please forgive my ignorance, but is that song under consideration for that position, and how does such a think come into being? (State Senate vote? Who do I have to bribe?) :^O Dennis Lovelady Simpsonville, SC life: dennis@lovelady.com work: dennis.lovelady@kemet.com *NEW* webadress: http://lovelady.piedmont.net ICQ UIN: 5734860 - -- "Advertising may be described as the science of arresting the human intelligence long enough to get money from it." -- Stephen Leacock ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1998 13:48:29 -0400 (EDT) From: Kevin Jones Subject: state song Hey-- >I am not "up" on politics at all, so please forgive my ignorance, >but is that song under consideration for that position, and how does such >a think come into being? Currently there are 300-some-odd songs (including efo's) being considered by a subcommittee headed by Augusta senator Emmett Hanger. They'd originally planned on having a recommendation ready for next year's General Assembly session, but the latest word is that they're planning on narrowing the list down to a "top 50" for next year's session, and will perhaps reach a consensus on the winner of their recommendation by the 2000 session. I believe you can find info on how to make friends and influence people on the committee, so to speak, via efo's web site http://www.efohio.com. Kevin - -- Kevin B. I assume they're looking for shows where EFO or any members of EFO get up to jam with them. It may have been a while, but I know they're out there. Perhaps someone has a tape of a show they did together (Bayou, etc.) and can help this gentleman out. See? EFO gets mentioned in other fan lists, so we should try to mention some of our other favorite bands here, too. Variety, variety, variety.... _______________________________________________ Subj: Pat Shows Date: 98-10-22 20:04:14 EDT From: mensor@mailhost.tcs.tulane.edu (Mike Ensor) Reply-to: mensor@mailhost.tcs.tulane.edu (Mike Ensor) To: identity@wipd.com Does any one have any shows that has Eddie from Ohio w/ them. Are there any that even exist? Anyway thanks for the help... It is on his solo disc, along with 30-second love affair which efo also plays regularly. This is a really good disc. My favorite tunes from it are Hitman and Arnie, but there isn't a "b"side song on it. Every song is really great. If you've got all of the efo discs and are looking for more, try the solos out. Robbie's is a bit more in the style of EFO, but Julie's are great in a different way. I like the fact that she can sing anything from the Irish Blessing to show tunes to Janis Joplin. Variety is the spice of life, you know... CB ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V1 #77 ****************************
