Hornstein" Subject: edheads-Trading EFO mp3's Howdy All. This is my first time posting to the list so please be gentle. If you're anything like me, you can't get enough EFO! As a potential supplement to your current EFO CD collection, consider checking out a brand new FTP site created for the sole purpose of trading EFO CD bootlegs! This has even gotten the band's official blessing. Quoth EFO: >hey seth >as long as no sales and profits are made, sounds like it's on the up and up. >go forth, my son >efo Take any bootlegs that you've got, compress them to mp3 files and then dump them onto an ftp server where others can download them. Feel free to look around and download any other bootlegs you want, as there is no upload/download restriction. The address is ftp://198.82.107.170 Login: EFO (case insensitive) Password: GOCEFO (all caps) Create a directory for each show and make the directory name the show title(place, date) You can just look at the format of the shows already on there as an example. Since I know that most, if not all, edheads are honest people I am sure I don't have to mention that I'd rather not see any hacking or anything illegal on the site (keep it to EFO bootlegs and everything will be just swell.) Obviously since I am just starting this server, the selection of mp3s will be sparse for a while. Hopefully the news will spread and we will have a good collection in not too long. Spread the word and start uploading! :) Also in the root directory is a program for playing mp3's and one for creating them from wav files. If you don't know what MP3's are, go to www.mp3.com/dummies.html and read all about it. Folkin Excellent! Go Hokies!!! - -Seth btw, I would specifically like to request that if anyone has Robbie's solo show at Bad Habits or the September 10th show at South Main Cafe in Blacksburg, please contact me. Also, It may be a bit early to ask, but is anyone planning on taping the last show at Bad Habits Grille on Dec 17? I have a feeling that is going to be a special show and since I have a college final that day and two the next day I don't think I am going to be able to make it. :) Thanks! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Oct 1998 23:21:14 EDT From: EFOcrew@aol.com Subject: ed from ohio You're right, it's not our Eddie. There are many stories about how Eddie got his name. I think one of them was about how an ex-girlfriend of Eddie's liked firehose and nicknamed Eddie, "Eddie From Ohio." When the trio added Eddie to their ranks, they stole his name. Well, OK, they share it, and Eddie does get top billing, but it's amazing to me how few people know which one is Eddie. I guess all the confusion comes from that whole, "We do have an Eddie, but we're not from Ohio" thing. It's a good way to know true edheads from just plain fans, though... CB BTW: Ofer, I still need your smail address, if you still want a copy of the McCabe's show. Anyway, your tapes are going in the mail tomorrow (Monday) so look for them by the end of the week. If you haven't sent your payment, please send it to: Carolyn Bragg 7014 Lombard Lane Fredericksburg, VA 22407 You can send either B&P ( 2 Maxell XLII's and $2 postage and mailer) or just send a check for $5. If you send blanks, please wait and recycle the mailer I send you. Thanks, and Enjoy the Show! CB PS to Jeff: I live in Fredericksburg, but don't go to MWU. I went to JMU and moved here because it was convenient to both Richmond and DC. Paul works for the Pat McGee Band, hence our need to be close to Richmond. Besides, neither one of us really likes the city or it's suburbs. It's nice to have some times when it's safe to drive! PS to Samantha: Thanks for your kind offer, but I can't afford to do too many trades and I have had to turn down quite a few so far. I do appreciate the offer, though. ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V1 #60 ****************************
