True - and I still haven't made it out there (you ever try to find a baby-sitter on a Tuesday), but now that we absolutely have to, we'll be there sometime in the next couple of months. > The National Anthem a cappella style was started almost exactly a year > ago when the band decided it would be fun to be chosen to do the > opening > anthem at an O's game, I believe. Actually - not true at all - I heard them do it at a DC United game during the 1996 season (which we won - and you should really head out to see a game, they play at RFK, and are easily the best team in the DC area). EFO played before the game, in the rain, and did the anthem on the field, also in the rain. Easily the best live Nat. Anthem I've heard. It's nice to hear a good rendition that you can actually sing along with. Anyway, on to who I am. I'm the oldest to speak up so far I reckon, at 34 (damn that's hard to type). I live in Leesburg, Va. and work in Tyson's Corner for a long distance phone company (no, not one of the ones who calls you, we mostly do business). I didn't make the Wolftrap show, there was a DC United game, and one must have priorities ;-). I've seen EFO a few times at the Barns of Wolftrap, a cozy little setting, and at quite a few outdoor settings, including, I think, an HFStival several years ago, but I could be wrong about that. But I swear I'd seen them at RFK before they played the DC United game. They've been one of my favorite local bands for several years, maybe 8.... I'm mostly into heavier stuff, metal and alternative, but I've always enjoyed folk as well, which I attribute to my upbringing, grew up in the union movement, alot of folk music around for some reason. My daughter (12) and my girlfriend's daughter (11) are huge EFO fans, so I'm helping build their fan base for the future. Someone has to do it ;-) I'm mostly a lurker, but figured I'd step out while we were relatively few in number and say "hey!". ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Jul 1998 14:13:25 EDT From: Satchmo307@aol.com Subject: 29 Ways Hello everyone, I'm Jay. I first heard the band 2 years ago, right when IRODEFIDOHOME came out. I just loved Moons of Jupiter, well to make a long story short, I tried to see them, in chicago, but I couldn't find a ride, I didn't drive at the time. but now 2 years later, I got to see them for the first time, back in March, it was quite an experience, I even got them all to sign my album cover :) boy what a nite. I plan to see them in N. Michigan on July 12, and in Cedar Rapids on July 25. if anyone knows of any good campsites near those shows, please let me know. My question is about 29 ways. Who wrote this song?? I just got a show of theirs on tape and it has 29 ways, it's my new favorite song. any info would be greatly appreciated.
