Millions of Products. http://shopping.yahoo.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Dec 2000 22:51:40 +0100 From: "Dr. RomeAntic" Subject: ET: Annual Album Of The Year POLL Hi angels! It seems you beat me to it this year! But nothing's lost yet. As some of you know for the past two years I made an Album Of The Year poll. Two years ago... it was a complete success since a lot of people participated (including Mr. BB)... results can still be found on my outdated homepage http://www.geocities/Paris/Metro/2009/edas.html if some of you don't have web access and would like to see the 1998 results just drop me a line. Anyway... what can i do... I'm a sucker for charts and stuff... and last year I tried to pull off an entire EDA music awards... and while many thought it was a good idea, it was too much for most people... and it ended up with a few people participating... so I decided to take a step back this year... and keep it simple... Just list your favorite albums of the year... I know top 10 is standard, but there were complaints on how hard it is to pick just 10. So I'll allow up to 20 albums... which means you can send a list of any number of albums between 1 and 20. Some of you like to take your time and give insightful comments along with the votes!!! I love that... especially for the music I don't have and it makes me wanna check some of those albums - usually they sound mighty intriguing! Those people who list less than 10 albums... can still e-mail me anytime with the additional albums that came to mind later... - ----------- IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT ------------- HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IF YOU WANT TO VOTE: 1. Send me an e-mail with your favorite albums of the past year! 2. It is REALLY IMPORTANT to send the list in the order of your preference... because it makes a huge difference if you put an album in the 1st or 20th slot!!! I know the order can be particularly difficult... but approximate the best you can. 3. And remember ONLY albums released in 1999 and 2000 are eligible for this!!! So you CAN'T vote for albums like: - Yourself Or Someone Like You - Matchbox 20... - Spirit - Jewel - Jagged Little Pill - Alanis Morissette - The Wallflowers - Bringing Down The Horse etc... If you don't know what year the album was released just asked me or include it in the list and I'll notify you if everything wasn't OK. 4. However if there are some resonable circumstances I'm willing to make exceptions for albums released earlier, you just have to write the reason along with the vote... and I'll check it out. This is particularly for albums released a while ago but nobody heard of the artist until this year. 5. You don't have to send the list of 20 albums. If you send more I will only consider first 20 and if you can't think of 20 titles you can always write what you can think of now and in case you think of more you can send me the rest later. If you can't think of the album title or something don't worry just send a brief description... like: the latest album by ???, or the one containing XYZ song. I'm not saying I know everything - but I'm pretty much into this and so far it wasn't hard to resolve the "riddles" :)) 6. Of course voting is open 'til January 10th!!! 7. --> The address to vote to is: k4fr0010@kiss.uni-lj.si 8. No e-mail address or voter's name will be passed along to the SPAM-O-MANIA or CHAIN-ME-HAPPY mailing lists. For the best in spam and chain letters you have to be good and work hard throughout the year and who knows I might subscribe you for your birthday! 9. Only residents of the 3rd rock from the sun are eligible to enter this poll, and it must be sent from a terminal on this planet. and 10. If you don't vote you have no right to send me hate mail!!! - --------------------- MAY THE BEST ALBUM WIN -------------------------- That's it! I can't wait for your votes... so if you'd like to see your favorite album among the best of the year... send in your votes... the more of you participate the more ballanced and "accurate" the chart gets... That's it... if you have any further QUESTIONS OR SUGGESTIONS... don't hesitate to e-mail me... if I think of something else that needs to be said I'll send an update... and I will post reminders in the next weeks. Let the voting begin P.S. You can also cast separate votes for best albums of all time but cause of last year's fiasco I'll only officially add this category if enough of you actually vote for it. And I'll post an update to let everybody know! - -- Have fun and stay beautiful Dr. RomeAntic, an angel with the worst stroke of luck and a flash of revelation "I maybe sound sarcastic A little masochistic I guess I don't have to like you To still be in love (Hell no)" Billie Myers ------------------------------ End of eda-thoughts-digest V3 #406 **********************************
