Fulmer" Subject: ET: The Gauntlet(poem) Hey everyone :) I was on campus tonight and thought about stuff relating to social psychology and relationships. This poem has to do with the gauntlet that most people deal with in relationships finding the right person, that "one". I am not sure what else to say...If you have any comments, questions, etc., feel free to ask/let me know, and if you don't want to receive my poetry, let me know and I'll take you off, okey dokeys? :) Take cares and I hope you have a most excellent Day!! :o) -Seth ======================================================== The Gauntlet by Seth D. Fulmer 10-2-00 I run through the gauntlet I sit at the gate I can see through the exit Oh my why me fate? You first were my opponent for years and then came a time when I trusted you and made you my companion We ran for a while dear We stumbled around Then you decided to make me your foe once again I swung my sword many times My strength gave way to sin I weakened my approach only when you bit into my heart muscle You told me sweet lies and made me feel so great then you ripped off the bandages and ate me like steakmeat Well finally I'm here now I can see the end checkpoint If only you will let me pass now I will be free from your torture On the other side of the gauntlet is a city of pure ecstasy where girls and boys are romantic and nobody cheats or plays unfair I'll find my dream woman there I'll caress her until I die We'll go on romantic escapades endlessly like walks in the park, and picnics in the sun I can give her fields of roses and so incredibly many diamond rings That her hand looks more magnificent than all the angels there in heaven. She would appreciate all that, and anything else I might think of Just as long as I did it for her or me and not to leave her stranded in misery But you my dear block my exit Get out of the way now I ask Let me get over you now and for good so I can experience happiness ever after ------------------------------ End of eda-thoughts-digest V3 #342 **********************************
