I know you all have witnessed my flirting excessively with every guy here, but especially Joe. He's said some of the sweetest things to me, especially that part where he told me I'd be lucky if I got raped because that'd be the only action I'd ever get. As you can tell he's a silver tongued little devil. He's just as sweet as everyone here said he was, so how could i help but be attracted to him and flirt my ass off with him, even though I've seen his picture and he looked like a chipmunk on speed. He just oozes charm out of every god damned fucking crevice he has, and I could never imagine wishing any form of bad fortune on him. So Joe, this is an apology to you, I'm sorry for flirting so much with you. After almost 1 1\2 years and 6000 travel miles from the time I recorded the first tracks. If you would like to hear a free sample from the album, send an email to Rizioule@hotmail.com listing the songs you would like to hear. You may choose any 3 songs. (Many of you requested the free demo tape some time ago. All of you will also receive the full album in a hand lettered and signed cassette version). Choose 3 Song titles and send them to Rizioule@hotmail.com Dream of Love 2 Jewelsong Moonlight Serenade Dream of Love 3 SugarGrove Not in Love Anymore? I Wonder Also to be eventually included in the album will be one of my newest songs "Stay With Me" and also the Original "Dream of Love " "From the "Dream of Love" trilogy, to the haunting and mysterious artwork that accompanies the CD, "Dream of Love" is a Concept Album in every sense of the word. It recounts a long ago dream of pure love in a world where strong spirits may learn to fly and then to soar, and a mans fear, hope and faith in finding this dream of love and learning to fly in a world where gravity, fear and greed have pinned mans spirit like "a live butterfly pinned to a page." The initial recording was made Dec. 23rd and 24th 1998 at Grapevine Studios in Nashville Tennessee, in the middle of a freezing ice storm that kept us trapped in the studio without food. I made one cassette copy from the master tapes at the studio for my own listening, and this was given to Jewels mom at the Gathering of Angels June 26th 1999, so I haven't been able to listen to it since then. The master was finally mixed down by the incredibly talented Larry Mitchell last week and mastered this week in San Diego. ( Larry is considered one of the worlds finest guitarists, He plays with Tracy Chapman and has done shows and tours with many of music's greatest artists, including Sting, Billy Squire and many others. He also won last years Jazz/Pop Artist of the year at the San Diego Music Awards. Look for an article and Interview with Larry in an upcoming issue of my new magazine "San Diego Nightlife and Entertainment News"). Well, thanks to all of you who actually read all of this, I hope you enjoy the music! My dad felt the same way about her lyrics, except that he took it to the point where he strongly disliked her and refused to listen to her in the car... until I bought a concert ticket for him and forced him to see her live. Now he's a huge Ani fan, is always stealing my CDs, and has completely lost his criticisms. Whoo. I find that self-focused lyrics, while maybe slightly overdone, are often the most bonechilling and meaningful to me. When people try to write big whole world general songs, I find them more cliche-ridden and less passionate. >> Nawww, self-focused stuff just annoys me. I like whirly stuff, stuff that makes you fly. Like Ride, their song "Seagull", it's like this gorgeous, really cryptic poem. The Eagles' "Hotel California" is another good example. Just so much stuff going on. You get a big image, rather than a picture of the artist sitting in a corner brooding. no longer cradled in gravity's memory still in and spinning in spiral drifts of endlessness spinning in torment into the garden of light - -Pale Saints "A Thousand Stars Burst Open" http://www.chickpages.com/musicmania/joepages ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 May 2000 19:08:16 -0400 (EDT) From: Seth Fulmer Subject: ET: Give it a Rest! Everybody, I am sitting here in the Computing Center of Drexel University again and just reading the email that has transcribed the past few days, month perhaps...I just say one thing. Give it a rest. Why does everyone have to be so attacking of everyone else? Courtney says not to marry guys because they're (censored), and there's no reason you had to go and prove her right Joe, about yourself at least if not for the rest of the male subspecies. Stephen didn't believe people should consume alcohol; so what emails do I see to the list, but several people blatantly admitting they drink in rather indirect ways. I personally will admit that I drink, and I personally admit that I am a guy, and yes I personally will admit that I am an asshole at times although I try my hardest to raise above that whenever I can. There, you didn't see me writing poetry that did the very things that (those that you disliked) disapproved of. If someone says to you "I don't like the way you slam the door when you enter a room," it's not my place to tell you what is right or not, but the person who then proceeds to deliberately slam the door I can for a fact say...is not going to be liked very much. Now, we all are very intellectual people. I will say to you now that I have come to learn in my life that there are some people who can say "roses" but it just comes out as "weeds"(if you get my drift). Try to see what they're trying to say and not just the words which they say. There are quite a few times someone on here says something that I just want to make a 1 line witty comeback that would be out of line, perhaps rude, yet make me feel better only for a short few minutes. Why don't we all "let bygones be bygones" and not freakin' attack people. Thank you very much! Seth D. I just wanted to say that I'm 15. I'm straightedge. Just about all of my friends either smoke, drink, smoke bud, or worse. I am the only person in a large group of people that doesn't do any of this. As a matter of fact, 95% of the 800 kids at my high school have tried pot. 83% are currently using regularly. (survey by the Astor Post of all AHS students taken in November)...I know how hard it is to be the different one. ~I'm~ the one that passes on taking a hit from the bong. I'm the one who turns down the beer. I'm the one that says "naw, thanks" when offered a puff off of a cigarette. I want to sometimes. I miss smoking, and parties. BUT I know how bad this crap could mess me up. I don't need it. I'm stronger than that. I've made this descision because my mom was a crank/acid/pot/worse user up until _after_ I was born. My dad's an alcoholic (and not in my life anymore; he probably uses worse). I don't want to take the chance of not being able to stop. I don't need that shit to make me a better person. A little over three years ago the owner of smoe.org (Jeff Wasilko) decreed that auctions and such were tabooed on the smoe.org lists. The reason was simple. He pays all the bills for smoe.org (over $200 monthly back then) and he did not want others profiting off of his resources. Fair enough :-) While some of the owners of other smoe.org lists are lax in enforcing this decree, I have not been (as some of you do know). Whenever a post regarding any auctions of anything what-so-ever comes in, including posts auctioning or flat-rate selling items on Ebay and similar sites, I write the person back explaining the reasons behind the list policy forbidding such things. I also mention that the policy is in effect "with very few exceptions". Actually, there was one exception and that exception happened today. ( I had always figured that one day Jewel and/or her management would have an official auction for a charitable cause) I mention this today solely to "head off at the pass" any other/future auction posts that are not officially related to Jewel and her management. (i.e. please do not take the Jewel Auction as a "green light" for you to post auctions/Ebay etc. ). Hoping some of you get some real neat stuff at the auction, Mike - EDA-thoughts list manager/owner/big cheese ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 May 2000 20:46:23 EDT From: JewelAng@aol.com Subject: ET: New website Here's my chance to tell you all about my new website.
