Hi everyone, My name is Julienne. I just recently subscribed to the list . . . so here is my first post -- a poem I wrote a few years ago. Tell me what you think, thanks ;) Where are they? I look in the faces of my friends to see if any understand They're too wrapped up in what's going on with them What's happening in their lives When they try to see to grasp what's going on in me They're confused and unable to understand They don't know, but Things aren't always as they think There's more substance more dimensions more feelings Where's the compassion? the empathy? the pathos? I don't see them in the faces of my friends Where are the people who understand? I look in Salinger and find books of my life my emotions He understands. Where is my Salinger? I listen to Jewel Her voice a representation of the world's cries its painful emotions She understands. Where is my Jewel? I see a man who understands Or, at least, I think he does When can I see his heart that feels? But maybe he's just as blind as the rest Where are the ones who feel like I do? Where are the Salingers and Jewels? But maybe there are just a few Just maybe I'm one of those who feels and sees and should express But how? And when does the loneliness disappear? When do I befriend the artist of my feelings? Or maybe I'll have to deal with this on my own And wait for my friends to discern I could be their Salinger I could be their Jewel. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 May 1999 03:45:12 EDT From: Angeljlr98@aol.com Subject: ET: I wrote a new song... Oooooh...my first fish-family/eda-thoughts cross post in a long time...ooooh... SO um, I wrote a song...finished it today, so noone's heard it...and now everyone gets to read it (as if you cared) It's really disorganized...probably the most flighty, disorganized thing I've ever written, but I like it. So here goes: Inside You by Jamie Mathews I remember the first time we kissed Wish I could go back and feel it all over again. The wind in our ears, the sweet smell of the ocean I barely turned around and you were there waiting for me, waiting for me, I was waiting for you... and for the moment it was just us. I don't know much about love but I know it has something to do with pretending your comfortable, when it just isn't so, And your shoulder's throbbing...something awful And you wanna move his head, but he looks so peaceful so you just kiss him, and look at him, and smile. Sometimes I like to hang my head out the the bathroom window...just to feel the cold wind on my face. Sometimes I like to hang my head beside you, inside you...just to be inside you. Maybe I just need to be saved... cuz I know I've fallen too deep. Oh, I should turn into a hero, I should turn into a hero... oh, the price to pay. I should turn into a hero, I should turn into a hero... the price to pay. Sometimes I like to hang my head out the the bathroom window...just to feel the cold wind on my face. Sometimes I like to hang my head beside you, inside you...just to be inside you. Just to be inside you. Hope you enjoyed it =), Jamie ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 May 1999 01:26:27 EDT From: Angeljlr98@aol.com Subject: Re: ET: Survey Time :-) ducksoup@spectra.net, DRotter154@aol.com Sender: owner-eda-thoughts@smoe.org Precedence: bulk Nicknames: Jamster, Jamita, Jams...it goes on and on and on Location: Oxnard, CA Height: 5'4" Number of siblings: 3 Birth order: I'm 2nd Favorite Relative(s): my stepmom and my dad What do you remember most about this year: No Laura Memory you miss the most: kastleburgers and Cilla Guys, with or without hats: whatever Girls, with or without nail polish: dude...no Favorite thing in friends: that they like me...they really like me Favorite TV shows: Dawson's Creek, Felicity, Friends What's on your mouse pad: there's 2- 1 pic of me (that I haven't convinced Ryan to change since I've moved her, and another one of Jewel Favorite concert you've been to: Jewel-HGH benefit last Sunday In the car, AC or open windows: AC if driving to Vegas...otherwise I get too cold Favorite Sesame Street character: NIGHTMARES!!! Today, I walked in to my house, and I found a letter from an organization called the International Library of Poetry. I was pretty surprised, but I DID remember sending them a poem awhile back. Well, I opened the letter and it said I was one of 70 semi-finalists, and that my poem was going to be published in a huge anthology. I don't really care is I win the contest or not, although it'd be nice, but I'd really like that book, considering my poem's going to be in it. It costs 60 dollars, and my mom is sure it's a scam, but I don't know. What do you people think? You're usually right about this sort of stuff. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 May 1999 17:14:03 -0400 From: Mandabear four Subject: ET: Have Faith This is an angel saying a prayer for you!!! _..._ .~ `~. ,_ / } ,_\'--, \ _.'`~~/ \'--,_`{_,} -( '.`-.`\;--,___.'_ '._`/ |_ _{@} / ` |-';/ _ / \ / | _ {@}_ / '--;_ _ {@} _Y{@} _\ `\ {@}\Y/_{@} Y/ / |`-.___. / \Y/\|{@}Y/\|// ^^^^^`--`------'`--`^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THIS IS A SIMPLE TEST....... Justice - When you get what you deserve Mercy - When you don't get what you deserve Grace - When you get what you don't deserve - --------------------------------------- Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied...Things aren't always what they seem. The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen! The first man had everything, yet you helped him. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let their cow die. Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied. When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmer's bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I told him to take the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem. Sometimes this is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way we think they should. If you have faith in God, just trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not realize it until much later. - --------------------------- * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT I CARE ABOUT YOU !!!
