I have plenty in my head but this is the one I think I want to use. Can you guys please tell me what you thin? It's not my best story but I want to use it. Mandy- I used major references in this story and us and some of our dear friends, let me know what you think. Here it goes, it's kinda long The Reunion by Kristin Maynard Kate Maywood stepped onto the campus of the Norwich Free Academy. It was her tenth high school reunion today and it was also the first time she'd stepped onto the campus in years. The reunion was being held in the gym but Kate's first stop was Slater Hall, the side steps to be exact. This spot had always had sentimental value to her. Fourteen years ago Kate had met her high school sweetheart Brian at this very spot. Brian and Kate had gone out all four years Kate was in high school but had lost touch after Kate went to college in Florida. Kate still missed Brian like crazy and wondered where he was. Kate could still remember the day she'd met Brain. It had been a cold November day like this when she was freshman. Kate had stayed after school to bring home some journalism equipment and had been sitting on the steps of Slater talking to her friend Amanda. After a while Amanda had to go and Kate's neighbor Danny had shown up. As usual Kate and Danny had gotten into a good natured fight and Kate threatened to hit Danny. Usually Danny didn't do anything but today he said that if Kate tried to hit him, he'd hit her back. Brian had then stood up and told Danny that if he tried anything with Kate he'd have to beat him up. Kate had been extremely grateful and began chatting with Brian even though she didn't know him. During their conversation Kate turned her back to Brian for one second and he'd pulled out her large claw clip. Kate had to fight him to get it back and that was how they'd met. Kate brought herself back to the future. She turned and faced the road just as she had that day. All of a sudden her dark hair fell free of the large claw clip she was wearing. Kate whirled around. "Looking for this?" a male voice taunted. Kate looked at the man standing before her. He was tall and had average build. His hair was light brown and his mischievous eyes were a warm shade of brown. He was wearing a brown sweater and neatly pressed khakis and he had a sly grin on his face. Kate couldn't believe it, it was Brian! "Brian!" Kate cried. She leapt forward and hugged him tightly. "I was hoping you'd be here Kate. One of my old friends told me about the reunion and I had to see if you were here." "I'm glad you did." Kate and Brain pulled a part and as they did Brian gently kissed Kate on the lips. "Oops, I hope your husband doesn't mind," Brian said. "Don't worry I'm not married. Are you?" "I'm divorced." "Where are you living?" "Still here in Norwich. I own a bike shop." "I live just outside of Los Angeles." "And you're a best selling author. I saw you on TV." Kate smiled. "I missed you Brian." "I missed you too Kate. I lost your number in Arizona and no one would give it to me and after a while I figured you hated me." "I could never hate you Brian." Kate hugged him again. "How did I know I'd find you with him?" Kate's friend Amanda called from the sidewalk below. Kate, Amanda, and Amanda's husband Vinnie had all flown here together and they were staying with Amanda's parents. Kate just smiled in reply. "You didn't say anything about meeting him on the plane," Amanda continued. "I didn't know. I just ran into him a few minutes ago." "Oh." "Have you seen Emily yet?" "You're always looking for her," Brian said. "I know." It was true in high school Kate was always asking people if they'd seen Emily. "Well I bet she's inside." "Then let's go. Brian would you like to be my date?" "Kate Elizabeth Maywood best selling author wants me to be her date?" "Yes now let's go!" Kate grabbed Brian's hand, feeling like she was in high school again. Kate, Brian, Amanda, and Vinnie all walked into the gym. The gym looked great. "Kate you're here!" a voice cried. Emily Harper, Kate's good friend form high school rushed up to her and hugged her. Kate and Emily talked nearly every weekend on the phone but this was the first time they'd actually seen each other in five years. Emily looked beautiful. She had her curly brown hair pulled up into a bun with a few tendrils framing her face. She wore contacts now, showing off her hazel eyes. She was wearing a long green dress that accented her figure. Emily noticed Brian. "Oh hello Brian," she said coolly. Emily hated Brian, she always had. "Kate didn't tell me she was coming with you." "I just ran into Kate outside and she invited me to come." "Oh I see." "Kate! Kate! You're here!" Lisa Myers Kate's journalism partner and good friend from high school came running up to her. "Lisa? Oh my gosh!" The two hugged. "With Brian I see," Lisa said with a smile. "Are you two married?" "No we just met outside. I'm not married." "Oh." Lisa looked down at Kate and Brian's hands which were twined tightly together. "Anyway Kate, I read your new book, More Good-byes, great book." "Thanks .I watch you on Dateline all the time." "Cool .Would you guys like to come sit at my table. Katrina and Heidi are there and you can meet my husband Jim." "Sounds good." The group went over to a table and sat down. "Hey Kate, Hi Brian," Katrina said. "I'd like you to meet my husband John. He loves cows as much as I love goats." "Nice to meet you," Kate said. Katrina had always had weird taste in men but John seemed okay. John smiled and put his arm around Katrina. "You look great," Katrina told Kate. Kate had her brown hair pulled up with a large claw clip and she was dressed in a long black shirt and shimmery burgundy blouse. As in high school Kate was rod thin. "Thank you so do you." Katrina wore her brown hair chin length and she looked very happy and healthy. Lisa introduced everyone to her husband Jim and Emily introduced them to her fiancé Nathan. A slow song began to play and the DJ invited everyone to dance. Lisa, Emily, Amanda, and Katrina grabbed their respective husbands and went out to the dance floor. "Kate would you like to dance?" Brian asked. "Sure," Kate replied. Memories of past Homecomings, coronations, and proms she'd attended with Brian flooded her memory. They walked out to the dance floor and Brain pulled Kate tightly against him. Kate rested her head against his. Brian pulled back slightly from Kate, his brown eyes locked on her face. He moved his mouth close to hers and began to kiss her. His kiss was soft but passionate. Kate kissed him back, powerful feelings of love for Brian rushed through her body. She knew people had to be staring at them but she didn't care. Kate and Brian finally pulled apart. "I love you," Brian whispered. "I love you too," Kate replied, her answer surprised her. "I love you more," Brian shot back. They'd always played this little game in the past. "I love you much more," Kate said "I loved you longer," Brian said. "Um what did I used to say? Oh yeah, I'll love you forever, even if you kill me." "Okay you win," Brian said. He leaned forward and kissed her softly. The song ended a few minutes later and everyone went back to the table. The rest of the evening Kate spent laughing with her friends, telling tales of her new life, and reconnecting with Brian. Her strong feelings for him were surprising her. She hadn't seen him in ten years but she'd never loved him more. At the end of the evening Kate made plans to go shopping with Lisa, Emily, Katrina, and Heidi in two days. And now she had to say good-bye to Brian. "Kate let's go out to dinner tomorrow night." "Okay. I'm staying at Amanda's. You know where she lives right?" " Yeah. I'll pick you up around seven." "Sounds good." "Well then I'll see you then." "Goodnight Brian." "Goodnight Kate. I love you." "I love you too." Brian gave Kate a long tender kiss before leaving. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Kate smiled as Brian lifted her veil and gently kissed her. It had been three months since the reunion and now they were married. Brian had proposed to Kate the night after the reunion and Kate had accepted. Brian was going to move to California with Kate right after the wedding. Kate and Brian exited the church and headed for their limousine. They were having their reception at the Riverview, the restaurant where Brian had proposed to Kate. "If someone had told me three months ago that I'd be marrying you today Kate, I wouldn't have believed it." "Me either Brian. I mean three months ago I was just a lonely writer living alone in LA. thinking I was going to be an old maid forever." "I'm glad we found each other again Kate." "Me too." Kate leaned over and kissed Brian. He kissed her back and Kate was glad she'd decided to go to her reunion. It was the best trip to school she'd ever made. :) w/b Love Always, ~Kristin~ "The big moments are going to come, you can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts.
