I tried to distance myself from everybody that weren't phisically around me every day as much as possible (had my reasons) and now I'm back... so first a huge hug to all those who want it and hi-five to all the rest and to those who want to avoid any contact... just a loud HEY!!! Hey Sue!!! How are ya settling in?? Got any walls yet??? *LOL* I promised something I know... and I shall do it ASAP! :=) Naomi... hope things are better with you *beary big hug*... and it's so wonderful to see your poetic skills back on the list, sharp as ever. Hi ya Kevin... have bought Celebrity Skin... don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread, but as soon as I listened to it in the store I knew I had to have it. There are some pretty darn good songs on it!! Well... uhmm I just thought you'd slightly care since we talked about it once upon a time... nevermind... Oh and Sam... HIIIIIIIII!!!! Welcome back!!! Missed ya too! :) uhmmm oh and TOS means "The One Starting..." And yes it's time for new look at the EDA poetry... this includes poems posted in digests #225 to #250... Applaudings by Dr. RomeAntic Applaudings this time go to: (remember below mentioned works are just those the-best IN MY OPINION, which does not mean the rest is crap... but that either they didn't get through to me... or I didn't think they were as good as these below! Numbers in brackets are the numbers of the DIGEST where the poems can be found) "Tara" for "hardly just a pawn" (#227) Well I was really surprised by this poem... it is so excellently "layed out on the board", with brilliant simbolism, about what it's it like to be treated as something less, pushed around and then realizing the advantages or true powers and suddenly tables may turn and the outcome... well... just a damn pawn... "Ben" for "arrogance" (#229) Great point in this one, and you just gotta hate those situations when you have to fight yourself to do (or not do) the right thing. Of course being strong enough to chase away your feelings or thoughts or intentions for a good reason (cause), is a big quality and can define somebody who grew up... however doing that all the time can leave consiquences as in regret or haunting or whatever... And for that sometimes just a sidelong glance is more than enough! "Sam" for TOS "only once have I not loved someone" (#234) If I could describe how beautiful this poem sounds to me, I so would believe me... but I don't really know the right thing to say... I mean like these lines from the poem: But neither of us wanted to be stung, and there were bees in the grass though at first we just stepped on wild lobelia and baby weeds that it so innocent and clever and powerful... definitely my favorite lines, though they do net reflect the beauty of this special relationship described here, something that runs deep and it took a few aches and pains to create it... but who wouldn't dream of such love, such enhancment of everyday life quality... something wonderful that is safe and permanent... "Margaret (alien)" for "go way alone" (#240) Although rhyme hurts this poem a whole lot, still there is something about "losing it all to one mistake" that makes me focus on this fear of what's ahead in life... really needing a break for regrouping your thoughts, feelings and goals... and trying to seek out some desperately needed purpose! "Jon" for "A Good Night at the Opera" (#242) This is about the world's famous guessing game... what now, what is allowed, dare I do this, maybe i should or shouldn't... maybe they will... how to find the line between what's desired, approved, needed and the right thing!!! Safe way is definitely not always the best way. But love... ahh, nobody can guess that, nobody can expect it... you just feel and hope your felt back... the question what to do about it... and when... and how... far... and I just love how it is described here... how the smallest of things can lead you to big conclusions... "Naomi" for "thoughts", TOS "tired and confused", TOS "so this is life", TOS "it's okay, it is", and "It All" (all #243) TOS "so this is life": This dark & gentle poem speaks of how you can feel helpless in this world where everything is dangerous and mysterious... and the worst is that you can never see it coming... if it would be screaming terror - well at least you would now... it's coming and prepeare... but this way... wouldn't you give it all, to know what those who went before you know... just to know what's the worst thing that can happen to you... what is it we need to be afraid off... can't we just get it over with... it's killing everybody... the worse we have it, more a afraid we are... and some reassurance or knowledge and comfort would be much appreciated... but reality doesn't provide this... so yeah... it bites!!! "Robby" for "Alzheimer's" (#246) Very sad and wisely & emotionally constructed poem. I can not begin to feel the horror of having such disease or much less dealing with such person... I just hope I and everyone I'll ever hold dear to me are speared of this suffering... it damages our lives, but in return it can give us love... the kind that is not held back and taken for granted... so what do we do with our lives... and how do we enrich it... as well as others.
