Well, I just really, really like (I don't think it would qualify as love) one of my best friends. (Who's a guy.) The show's pretty close to being my life, too, except I'm not quite as pathetic as Dawson and Jenn are (Joey's cool, and she can act!). :p Does anyone here watch Buffy? Well, off to the shower... Their music still rocks to me. And what about Poison...Every Rose has a Thorn? Or how about when you girls out there thought it was cool to wear all your hair in a pony tail on the side of your head. I used to think that was the coolest. I tried it again today and whoa! I look like a major dork. lol. Or how about when L.A.Gears were the only sneakers to wear? I guess things are different everywhere for people who grew up in the 80's. Isn't that weird? How we all remember different things that used to be cool and they're hardly the same from everyone else? how about the Ninja Turtles? Raphael and Michalangelo were the bomb!! Well, i hope I haven't weirded anyone out and i hope I'm not the only one who remembers these things. These things were cool..weren't they? Oh, I saw What Dreams May Come last night. It was really great. The song that best describes the movie is one by Jewel. It's called Painters. I swear, I came out of the theater singing that and it's not even in the movie although I think it should. Oh, on Friday, I saw Pleasantville. Whoa!! That's not one you should exactly see with your Pastor and youth group. My youth group is made up of high school students so we thought it was hilarious but I don't think my Pastor had quite that reaction. OUr youth group leader did though. She thought is was hilarious too. Well, gotta go to church. Yeah, but you have the 80s engraved in your psyche more than the 70s, just like me. I was born in the 70s, but I lived for the 80s > But surely you can't forget Mork and Mindy :-) Or was that originally > late 70's ?? Does anybody remember the episode of Happy Days where Mork first appeared, and Robin Williams was still doing a lot of coke then, and he ran around acting like a maniac for a half an hour while the Happy Days cast stood there trying desperately not to laugh? For those who don't know, Mork & Mindy was a Happy Days spin-off. Happy Days got so lame at the end of its run that they started doing weird shit like bringing aliens on. They didn't care at that point. Ben ps- I think I feel another tangent- the great spinoffs of the past- anyone remember Benson? Do you know what that was spun off of? Now that Frasier is successful, people tend to forget that there was an earlier Cheers spinoff, with Dan Hedaya. He had guest starred as Carla's husband, Nick Tortelli, on Cheers, and then had his own, brief run on a spinoff, although the show's name eludes me. sorry, but Cheers was my favorite show ever. I'v seen EVERY episode. Night Court comes in a close second. Alright, that's enough... ____________________________________________________________________ Get free e-mail and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 12:26:17 -0400 From: klbastarache@juno.com (K L B) Subject: ET: Re: Born in the 80's] On 25 Oct 98 09:52:39 EST genben@usa.net writes: > > >ps- I think I feel another tangent- the great spinoffs of the past- >anyone >remember Benson?
