It was 3-0 against our hopes >in the third period, when some scrawny punk on the last place team found >the net 4 times. Wild stuff. We've been there before... :) This is, as far as I can recall, our best season yet... but we've spent plenty of time cheering on the 7th place team, as they fight it out with the 2nd place team, or other similar situations... of course, the higher ranked teams generally do win, which is unfortunate for us. :) Last week, during the quarterfinals, though, the 6th place team played the 3rd place team, and their goaltender never showed... talk about guts - some guy stood in front of the net, with regular (gloves, shin & knee) pads & a regular stick, and blocked just about every damn shot put on him... I don't know how this poor guy managed it, but the final score was only 4 to 2 (they lost... but still... no pads!)... I've taken slap shots off of pretty much every where, and there isn't one single place I've been hit where I'd say "Hey, that didn't hurt..." the guy was hardly even flinching... I don't know if he was hopped up on drugs, or what... but it was amazing, watching that guy face down a 2-on-none breakaway, and win. :) > One teammate was flying down so, I threw it out in front, but it hit >off a defender and into the net, and WE WERE IN THE FINALS!!!! I never have >celebrated after a goal, not even when we played at the Kiel Center(where the >St. Louis Blues play), but I was jumping up and down. Hey, I'd be celebrating after that goal, too... it doesn't matter how it goes in, it just matters that it goes in. :) (Actually, I'd be celebrating after any goal... I've been playing for 6 years now, and haven't managed a single goal. I've gotten a lot of assists, but I just can't put the ball in the net myself... always the bridesmaid, you know? Granted, I play back on defense, but it would be nice to score, just once. :) > Then we went on to sweep the 1st place team 2-0 and 3-1 in the >finals. >Hey, CONGRATS!!! You never know how it will turn out. :) Sweeeeeet. :) These playoffs are unfortunately, short single-loss elimination... but hey, can't complain about making it to the finals, anyway. Next week, we'll have fun, get beat up, and maybe win. And if we do, then we'll probably get beat up in the parking lot. What's that all about? :) There was this girl in my classes (and here, we're talking like, freshman and sophomores (maybe older) in high school, remember) who was WAY into New Kids... she used to catch no end of crap from people about it. And if you want to talk about diverse musical tastes... this girl absolutely loved bands like Jane's Addiction, Porno for Pyros, Mother Love Bone, Nirvana... and...
