I was thinking about why most of us write such sad poetry, and I realized that I write as a release, it makes me feel better. It's like my therapy...so here's a poem I wrote in November... Untitled~Melissa Linker ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Laying in your arms it felt so good, so right It had been stored up for so long, repressed, hidden Finally it had surfaced I knew what I wanted to say I knew what I need to hear But when my mouth opened the words wouldn't come I tried to free them but my lips were safety nets Saving me from what-rejection? myself? I didn't know and for that brief moment I didn't care Everything fit Thanks for reading it guys...mmmmmwwwah o : ) Melissa ps-I just got the Lillith Fair cd...it's great o : ) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 May 1998 17:54:56 EDT From: Dreachic Subject: ET: new here hey fellow poets i'm new to this list (mike added me last night) but i've been on the jewel list for quite some time i just wanted to say that i've visited the home page of this list and it's reeally cute and i enjoyed the poems basically this letter is just a HI to you guys (hey lara ruth!!) andrea ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 02 May 1998 18:07:34 -0700 From: "Christie Ambert" Subject: ET: just a short story instead of a poem hi fellow thinker, first things first...i would like to thank you all for your compliments on my poetry IT MEANS THE WORLD TO ME...THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. today it was a horrible day for me so instead of a poem perhaps a story,to makwe you think about life and how thwe world can be a cruel place. me and my sisters went shopping.when we got to the mall we were waiting for a parking spot and so was this lady,the lady apparantly was waiting for the same parking spot we were. we never thought she waswaiting for the same spot cause she was waiting like very far from the parking spot. so we parked and this lady hit our car and she got of the car insulted us and hit my little sister she got into the car and hit our car two more times. and then she got of her car and yelled at us some more. what she wasnt counting on was that the mall cops were watching. so they called the state police and to make the story short they booked her for hitiing the car and for hitting my lil` sister. this woman has kids she did this in front of them, her little boy was crying and her little girl was comforting him in other words she didnt care about the kids. is things like this that make you think about how the world is getting worse and worse. why am i telling you this story.......no reason in particular maybe because this could happen to you. im greatful for the mall cops they made us feel safe after that and belive it r not we went on with our plans to go shopping. i just thought i ought to share the expirience later, Christie the flowerchild Angel Get your FREE, private e-mail account at http://www.mailcity.com ------------------------------ End of eda-thoughts-digest V1 #13 *********************************
