(i see a go-gos poster instead.) but fingering through angst in the form of e-mail, alive in the middle of a firefly, the butterfly and i finally embrace in the field he thought up before the end of the summer, our dust and filler and bullshit sticking to the bottom of a lizard's shoe. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Aug 1999 13:12:39 -0700 From: "C. Here are a couple of poems of mine...... they were written during a rough time and hopefully you all like them.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There's no moving around this You turned a half circle around me Cold eyes glinted out where warm brown ones used to keep house - --Chestnuts roasting in a broken heart. Such a tragic end to such a tumultuous heaven. My feet couldn't touch the ground You wouldn't let them You held me up against the door while you invaded me with misogynistic intent And your mistakes scorched my eyes and ran down my cheeks I watched you go blank I watched the compassion drain from you as water drains from a sink I lost you then..... or maybe you lost me My helpless sobs as I dangled within your grasp wafted around our heads, but you were deaf and blind to anything but a past not worth punishing Blank....so blank all at once, my mind matched your face Then you gently swept me up and carried me to the home I knew so well - --where your eyes were warm. And without a word, you carelessly tossed me to the burning floor I watched the icicles fall behind your eyes.... and my heart screamed, rent with searing, agonizing pain and the longing to reach you.... to melt the cold from you. But the distance was just too far Not even my bridge of tears could stretch and I lost you again.... Not once, but twice The lightning struck and I cringed from it, fearing the inevitable My eyes slid open and you were gone And sure enough There....in the wake of my pain. Two singed tire tracks smelling of burnt rubber and a need to flee...... --J.V. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blanketing trepidation envelopes me as I plunge into unknown passes --dark waters-- with veins of quartz swallowing me like the tendrils of the juiciest flower --J.V ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well....there they are.... Comments are welcome and much appreciated!.... Love you all.
